This is such a perfect book for couples taking the time to recommit to their relationship. It offers wonderful, relatable stories, and activities to further conversations. It is both inspirational and encouraging. My husband and I are using small slices of the book as talking points during our walks. You can take as much or as little as you’d like. It can be a good read or a tool for couples to strengthen their bond.     • A wonderful tool.
My husband and I, who met in high school and married right after college, are so grateful to have this book. We have enjoyed reading and discussing it together. While we have raised two children and have been through many seasons of life along the way, we find this time of elderhood especially exciting and challenging. This book is wonderful. As soon as we are born, we begin to age, and starting in our young adulthood, form partnerships, which continue to evolve and change. Even though I am still in my 30’s, I am watching my parents age, and these stories shed light on what they are undergoing. Caryl and Jay Casbon have given the world a treasure of a book. Through their in depth interviews with 12 courageous, thoughtful and open-hearted couples they provide a range of ways that partners have navigated the ups and downs of life “in health and in illness”, in joys and in sorrows, in the ordinary dailiness of life and in the harder times. At the end of the book, the Casbons provide the interview questions that guided their work. What emerged for me was a combination of hope and possibility. I was enlivened by reading about (and then having our own) meaningful conversations about what is so often unspoken even to oneself.
