After one shower I already feel a difference in the softness of my hair/skin. My apartment has pretty hard water, and over the past few weeks it became unbearable, to the point where I would get out of the shower and have super dry and flakey skin, and my hair started to feel like straw. The setup was very easy and the instructions were clear - as mentioned in the product description, no special tools are needed for the install. They also give you teflon tape to put around the screwing pieces. My main complaint and why I am knocking down to four stars though is the showerhead - even with the water pressure limiter in it, the pressure was still way too strong for my liking and I ended up just using my old showerhead again. I am so pleased with this product. There was a leaking problem with the original purchase and the company immediately replaced it and the new one doesn’t leak and I have noticed a difference in my skin. I have very hard water and the water quality with the shower filter is amazing! I love it and I love how the company took care of the original problem so quickly… I didn’t even know that hard water could cause so many problem with my skin and hair. We were skeptical about purchasing a filtered shower head, but ultimately decided to give this a try. It's very easy to install and will be very easy to replace the filter when needed. It seems to have helped out water pressure as well surprisingly. Our family of 4 have all noticed the difference this filter is providing for our skin and hair. I for one have had issues with acne as long as I can remember, since using this filtered showerhead I am no longer experiencing break outs and my skin is looking much healthier. That was an unexpected but pleasant surprise to say the least. We have all noticed that our hair also feels much healthier, stronger and softer. UPDATE! Company did reach out and replace the item. Very sweet. Great customer service. They stay on top of things and i appreciated that. I was so excited to get this because I have well water where I am at and it was doing terrible damage to my skin. so, when I installed it, I noticed it was leaking and I tightened it up extremely well. I'm not going to lie it makes your skin feel REALLY soft. love that part. UPDATE: Customer service is top notch. I received a replacement shower head, and this one does not have any sideways spouts. PREVIOUS REVIEW: This shower head is amazing for its purpose: filtering hard water. We have hard water at our house and it has caused build up on our old shower heads, so we decided to try this. Upon its use, it does make a noticeable difference for this purpose. Update x2: I just realized this device can be opened and the filter replaced. A small note on the product page explained this. I have purchased replacement filters and look forward to improved filtering. Update: Three months after install unnoticed our normally strong shower water pressure reduced significantly. I suspect like other customers, the filter is full and needs a replacement. I’m pretty disappointed that it only lasted three months. I’ll be buying a different brand for next time. Original review: My normally soft hair had started to feel straw-like. I’d made no changes to my diet, shampoo or conditioner, etc. Despite having had city water before throughout my life, I’d never noticed the water affecting my hair negatively. But my husband suggested we might have hard water so off to Amazon I went to buy a hard water filter for the shower. I installed myself in under five minutes and took my first everything shower tonight. The water didn’t feel any different (I’ve had well water and this did not feel slippery and soapy like well water did for me), but holy moly did it fix my hair. The shampoo and conditioner worked up better than normal and I was able to run my fingers through my damp hair-something I’d been unable to do recently due to the awful texture. I have been taking supplements and applying expensive products to my hair and skin to try and fix the dryness / oiliness combo nightmare I’m sure you may be familiar with if you’re here reading this review.
