  • Worked great!
I bought these to put on my favorite Frye boots. The leather soles had split and I didn't want to spend the money to have them replaced. These cut easily and even my husband commented that it looks great! A little shoe glue and these soles did the trick.

  • Easy process with the right prep
Thick flat surface, trims to shape with good scissors (or a belt sander). The surface on the bottom seems like it would not have tons of grip, but it does. Easy process with good prep (I used drum sander and belt sander, then isopropyl alcohol). Using barge cement in the process they outline, this works great. Good value. ... show more

  • Good Soles - Medium Effort Project
The product itself is a good quality shoe sole. It provides good and consistent traction and is made from a flexible rubber compound. I installed the new shoe soles on an older pair of size 10 tennis shoes. A photo is available on the online product page, showing simplified installation instructions. Detailed installation instructions are not included with the shipped product. Installation requires a marker to outline your shoe on the back of the new shoe soles, heavy-duty scissors to trim the new soles to the needed size, shoe glue to affix the new soles to the shoes you are repairing, and inserts and clamps to hold the new soles in place while the shoe glue dries. Cutting the soles to size requires a sharp pair of heavy-duty scissors, as well as hand strength, to cut through the rubber soles. Before gluing the soles to the shoes, you may need to build up any worn spots on the bottom of the shoes with shoe glue, leaving a flat surface to affix the new soles. I used a trowel and solvent when applying the shoe glue to the new soles to ensure that the glue was evenly dispersed. Centering and clamping the new soles on each shoe will require some adjustments, so be sure to complete a dry run of how the sole will be positioned and clamped before applying glue. Additional trimming may be needed after the glue has dried. Including drying time, the entire project can take a couple of days, depending on build-up prep and the number of clamps you have. I did one shoe at a time. After some time and effort, I have new soles on my old tennis shoes. The new soles have plenty of flex, and I’m happy with the results. I expect this repair will extend the life of my shoes for another 1-2 years. ... show more

  • Shoe tread
My job requires me to wear anti-slip shoes. The original soles have worn out smooth but the rest of my boots are still in good condition. I had to use shoe glue to put them on and trim the sides. They seem to work pretty well so far. The rubber material they are made of seems pretty durable. They didn’t add a significant amount of thickness to the boot so it doesn’t feel any different or weird to walk on. I will update my review as time goes on to see how long they last. I would recommend this product. ... show more

  • Very convenient and good quality.
The media could not be loaded. This is quality, neoprene rubber, at a very low price. They are a closed cell rubber, not a lightweight foam-type material, so they can add weight to whatever they're applied to. In my case, I am replacing the soles on an ancient pair of Birkenstock(TM) sandals, so that when I am done, my sandals will be heavier. However, replacement Birkenstock sole material costs tenfold what these do. Note that these are just flat pieces, lacking any kind of raised heels or tapered sides or anything like that. I'm very glad these were available. These are more convenient and less expensive than buying this material in sheet form. Notes re: resoling shoes: You can remove an old sole (usually) by loosening its adhesive with a heat gun or even a hair dryer. Use a pair of pliers to grasp the old sole in order to peel it off. Then, use Barge Cement(TM) rather than "Shoe Goo" to adhere the new sole (that's real shoemakers' adhesive). Barge Cement is a type of rubber cement so that once you join the pieces and press them firmly together, there is no need to clamp or weight things down to get a good bond. Barge Cement is available here on Amazon. ... show more

  • Good way to give more life to your shoes.
A good way to add a little extra life into your favorite pair of shoes. In my case the soles of my shoes were very thin but the uppers were in great shape. I used shoe goo to glue these soles onto my shoes, I also had to add a little weight on top of the shoes after gluing the soles on, so that the soles adhered evenly. After two days of letting the glue cure, I trimmed the new soles to size. The shoes gained a little weight with these thicker soles, but not so much that it was noticeable while wearing them. The traction on these soles is pretty good, and I'm happy with how they turned out. ... show more

  • Flexible, thin sole repair pieces
I'm waiting for some shoe glue to glue these on my hard-soled slippers that make a lot of noise in the hopes of quieting them down a little. They seem to be thin, of good quality rubber, and they are fairly flexible.
