  • Generic, cheap, and ultimately a rip-off.
It runs, it cools, and it definitely helps when it comes to pulling in air from the outside, moreso than using a cheap box fan. That's about where the positives end. The fans started to rattle within weeks of usage. Not too bad, but when I have to basically smack the fan to realign them, that tells me that either the housing or the motor is shoddy. There is zero serviceability with this fan as well; if you live in a dirty environment, or if you get dust storms, or if there is any chance that the fan will get dirty, you are out of luck. The best you can hope for is to hose it off and dry it for a week or go crazy with canned air, or an air compressor if you're lucky enough to own one. The remote is a bad joke, as it's the cheapest possible plastic and buttons while demanding a couple AAA batteries. Finally, the power of the fans is on par with those cheap, small $20 desk box fans that you buy from Wal-Mart; minimal, loud, and overall more of a waste of plastic than anything else. Even at $45, this is nothing compared to what you could buy if all you care about is cooling. I bought a giant Lasko Wind Tunnel fan for $50, and it lasted me through rainstorms, snow, cold and heat, all while keeping me cool for over 10 years. Fans like this are a bad joke. You're better off buying some smaller fans and then DIYing a frame solution if you absolutely need a window fan. Otherwise, you're wasting money. ... show more

  • Does the job I needed it for
It frequently gets hot in my apartment because we live in the top floor. This is an older building so we don’t have central ac. We have a portable ac unit but it’s very loud and uses a lot of electricity. This was a great alternative and i can keep it on at night while sleeping when the air outside is much cooler. This can work on windows that slide vertically or horizontally. I might get another one for the other room now. ... show more

  • Thin and quiet!
Very quiet compared to other fans (I have another Comfort Zone). I have older window sills and window screens so almost every other brand I tried wouldn't stay. This one is thin and I love that the screen extension has a locking mechanism. Once it's up, it stays up! Definitely feel cooler air coming in, helps cool the room amazing at night. Thinking of buying a 2nd! ... show more

  • They are great fans!!
I bought 3 of these fans, 1 each for the living, dining, and family rooms. I’ve been using 2 of them mostly all day long, and sometimes during the night, for several weeks now. They are awesome!

  • The good and the bad
GOOD: it's really quiet, seems to have more air flow that my older fans. BAD: if you're buying it for the remote...DON'T. The remote only seems to work from 2 feet or less. If I have to get within touching distance to operate the remote...I don't need the remote, I can just reach out and push the buttons on the fan. FYI: the fan reverts to baseline settings (ventilate, low speed) when you turn it off and back on. It would be nice, if it held the previous setting. ... show more

  • Nice fan for air supply, exhaust and circulate.
At first glance out of the box, it appears to be very cheaply made. It is indeed lightweight and do not expect it to stand up to any abuse but well worth the price. The side expanders do not lock out very well but do good enough to block air from going around the unit in the window. The circulation mode ( one fan air supply and other exhaust at same time) is a very nice feature when used in a closed room where the fan would have to fight air pressure buildup in the room, it probable does have a tenancy to pull in exhaust air in that mode but not enough to make much of a difference, still pulls in air and exhaust excessive air in the room ( possessive air pressure buildup ). this can also be prevented by leaving door open enough to let some air escape the room easily. Not silent but much quieter than any other single fan I have used. Knowing what I know now, I would defiantly purchase again. ... show more

  • Love this fan
The flanges didn't quite fill the width of the window but it didn't matter. The fan is so thin that we didn't have to remove the existing screen. It brings in cool night air so well that we're never installing the old window unit AC again. Very quiet. Cooled off a room about 12 X 14. Perfect for New Mexico climate where nights are cool and all you needis someway to bring the night air into the house. Probably not as effective in a muggy hot climate. ... show more

  • Good fan, but beeper is annoyingly loud
Using these in 10x10 rooms and the beep sound when you push the buttons or use the remote is annoyingly loud. I took the fans apart and put electrical tape over the speaker on the circuit board. It's much more tolerable now. They were a bit of a pain to put back together, though. Remotes for ours work well. I like the the options for fan rotation. ... show more
