The reel looks nice and seems to be solid. I have not had a chance to fish with it yet. Waiting on a St. Croix rod to arrive that I am pairing it with. The retrieve seems nice and smooth though. I have it spooled with 20lb braid and will be using a fluorocarbon leader. I can't wait to take it out for a test run. I will update when I have taken it for a spin (pun intended) and will update then. :) Update: I added a few pictures of the 3000 that I received. I did take it out for a few casts on a St. Croix Bass X rod. No catches mind you. The fish here have gone on vacation for the most part. My first impression is that it is a solid real. It is smooth on the retrieve and feels really good in the hand. As for long term impressions, I am not there yet. I will say this is the first reel that I have purchased that is over the $100 mark. I have typically been fishing the Pflueger President XT, the Kast King Speed Demon Elite spinning reel. Both of these are in the approximate $100 range. While I have said this is good reel, I am not sure that it is that much better than the ones I mentioned above. I guess I will have to give it some more time and use it where I actually catch something. Of course, that might be spring from what I can tell. I am a bank and creek fisherman, and those bodies of water are too cold for me to be wading in this time of the year to really give it the proper test. :) Update: 2/24/2023 Well, I have had this reel for a few months now and it has not let me down yet. It still casts great with both fluorocarbon or braid. The drag is still going strong, and I like the way it feels. The retrieve is still top notch. If I had to buy it again I would. The only complaint I have with this and 90% of other reels out there is the lack of being able to buy extra spools from the manufacturer. I like to use both braid and fluorocarbon for different situations. The ability to swap out a spool instead of having to re-spool the reel would be great. Of course, being able to swap for different line strengths would be great too. I just don't trust ordering parts from unknown sources due to potential quality issues. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Bought to replace a stradic that I subsequently fixed. I spooled it up and couldn't be more pleased. It's so smooth and light. It weighs less than the stradic. I used 2500 size for trout and reds in Florida. This should do nicely going forward. Paired with an ugly stick inshore select medium action and 15 pound braid. I really love this reel. I use it mostly for finesse worms / soft and hard jerk baits and small crank baits. Coupled with Daiwa J-braid X8 (15 lb. - 4 lb. dia.) this is performing flawlessly. So far... no wind knots, casts farther than I need it to, which gives me pretty good accuracy and control, and after a hook set, the drag is smooth. Haven't lost a fish yet!
