Our material is U.V. protected and is perfect for outdoor use. I see that some backstops on the market are made from fabric or denier. Are these any good? NO. Denier is a cheap material not suited for backstops. Also called Oxford fabric, 600 D, cloth, 1000 D, vinyl coated cloth. This material rips very easily. The sun (U.V.) will destroy it quickly too. Simply look at customer photos for proof. Who exactly buys GBCC backstops? Pro batting cage facilities and baseball clubs across the USA. Professional baseball teams, university and colleges, high schools, and little league softball and baseball teams. And folks who want to train at home Can the GBCC backstop really handle 20,000+ baseball impacts? YES. The 22 oz material may not seem to be the thickest material but it is EXTREMELY durable. You can hit baseballs into our 42 oz Rubber Super Duty backstops, watch the video. Why do you use vinyl straps to hang the GBCC backstops? It's stronger and more durable than grommets. Our vinyl webbing is 3X stronger (tensile pull strenth) than a standard grommet. This means our straps hold, while grommets blow out or rip through the denier and cheap vinyl.
