Not going to down talk this item and or vendor but I’m a huge Shimano Fan and was disappointed. Only used the reel literally 4-5 times and started to make this clicking sound in the gear when u reeled in. Also turns out this is a ”European Model” so Shimano will not service it in the United States so the warranty is useless. Might be good for a beginner on a budget. 1 star Returned! ... show more

For a 40 series reel, especially from a company like shimano, I’m disappointed. It couldn’t handle a full day of reeling in over 20 catfish. After reeling in the 5th fish, the reel began to make a nasty grinding noise and become very stiff to reel under a load. Sent it back.
