The Shibumi Shade 3.0 Version | Sunset Edition has completely changed our beach trips! The setup was incredibly easy and honestly took about 3 minutes just like advertised. No struggling with complicated poles or anchors — once the wind picked up, it practically set itself up with the Wind Assist feature. The Sunset Edition colors are absolutely beautiful and stand out on the beach. It provided plenty of room for our whole group, and the 150 sq. ft. of shade comfortably fit several chairs, bags, and coolers with room to spare. I also loved the UPF 50+ protection because we were able to stay out longer without worrying about too much sun exposure. It’s lightweight, easy to carry, and much less stressful than traditional beach tents or umbrellas. If you spend a lot of time at the beach, this is 100% worth the investment!

Great product! Takes 2 minutes to set up. Not heavy to carry to the beach at all and fits in our beach bag/carry on luggage. This is the mini size, comfortable for two adults to be fully in the shade. Has an option for sand bags if there isn’t wind to keep the tent open.

Very much worth it! Day one was a light breezy and the Shibumi did great on the beach. Was easy to put up and only had to adjust for a shift in this wind once. Was super quiet. Day two was WINDY and it provided the perfect shade again. Not super quiet in stronger winds but the ocean waves drowned out the flappy noise. Lots of people commented on it as they walked by, some taking pictures of the label. Much better shade than the old beach umbrella we have always used. It is nice and tall so we can stand up, it stays put and provides shade for my family and our gear. Yes, it is pricey but worth it!

If I could give this shade 10 stars I would. Anyone that has carried a days worth of gear to the beach knows what a pain an umbrella and pole are to carry. Plus once you get to the beach, you are forever messing with it to stop it from blowing away. The Shibumi canopy fits in a 4 pound, 26” long small soft sided bag with a carry strap that easily hangs on your wagon, cart or shoulder. It sets up in minutes, covers a LARGE area! No extra tools needed for setup. All it needs is the smallest breeze to work. There has always been more than enough breeze on the beach. Works great in high winds too. We used ours in up to 25 mph winds with no problems. Such a great product! My only regret is they came out with the Sunset color a couple months after we ordered ours in the classic Ocean color. :) Go ahead and get one, you will not be disappointed.

Great quality. Easy to set up. Much better shade coverage that an umbrella. BUT you need consistent wind. Without a sea breeze it’s completely useless. To the designers: adding some holes or clips to the sail to allow it to be tied back in case of no wind would make this more consistently usable.

We bought the Shibumi after arriving at our beach vacation and realizing that our current beach canopy was a problem in the 25 mph-plus winds on the beach. We could barely get it up and then keeping it up was problematic. The Shimbumi was a lifesaver. Set-up is easy even in strong winds and take-down is even easier. One day, after taking it down in the wind, we found that a group of 5 people had been watching us. They said, “It took you longer to put your chairs in their bags than to take the canopy down. It’s amazing.” We agreed. We also had other conversations about it throughout the week. I think Shimbumi owes us a commission. It's easy to shift and move when the wind changes direction. The addition of clip-on sandbags to help on less windy days is genius. It’d pricey, but well worth it for us. It saves much stress!

I live at the beach, and yes all along the SE coast of NC you will see these everywhere and everyone always has a comment to say about the “sea of blue Shibumi’s” however it’s a MUST have if you’re a beach lover! I could never justify spending the amount for the regular size shade and even was hesitant to spend the amount for the mini, but I was tired of baking in the sun and using bulky cheap umbrellas that don’t last a season or lugging out my heavy chair with a pop up shade so I finally broke down and bought this mini. The mini is perfect for 2 adults or even 2 adults and a kid, plus your beach bag/cooler etc. It’s the easiest and fastest shade to set up and take down and so it’s so light and compact! It’s not big or bulky and the shade in bag fits into my beach bag easily! Now it is a bit shorter in height than the larger shade so in my opinion it works best with “low to ground” beach chairs or if you’re a person who just sits on a towel. I’ve only had mine for one summer, but I know it will more than pay for itself in the long run bc a friend of mine has the large shade and has used it regularly for the past 3 summers and it still looks and functions like the day it was purchased. I highly recommend investing in the Shibumi shade in whichever size works best for your situation if you’re a regular beach goer. Also, as far as stability goes I have not had one issue with it not staying up in the wind, whether it’s just a light breeze or a big windy day, it’s worked great!
