I recently tried out the Shave Ice Attachment for my family's KitchenAid mixer, and honestly, it’s going to be great for the summer. Setting it up is super easy because you just plug it into the front power hub like any other attachment. The big thing is that you do have to remember to freeze the special ice molds ahead of time, which kind of sucks if you’re impatient. The best part is the texture of the ice because it isn't chunky like a snow cone; it’s actually light and fluffy, almost like real snow. It comes with two different blades so you can choose how fine you want it, and it works really fast once you get going. The only real downside is that the plastic molds take up a lot of freezer space, and if you have a big group of friends over, you’ll definitely run out of ice quickly. Overall, it’s way better than buying a cheap standalone machine, and it’s super fun to experiment with different syrups and toppings.

It worked like I hoped for. It has two different cutters. The one is almost like a fine powder. The other is like snow. Perfect to add your own syrup. It seems durable and easy to use.no problems.

Just a tad too short
It’s about 1/8 inch too small. Will only catch on the lid every once in a while and then will fall just below.

Summer fun, all year round
This has been such a fun attachment. And to have the 8 containers to pre-freeze is perfect so they are ready when you are.

It works but not what I expected.

The shave ice attachment does shave the ice "pucks", however I was expecting a finer more "snow-like" result. I tried it a couple of times and then decided to return it. Also, it is very difficult to get the ice out of the molds even after running hot water over them.
