  • Love this hair dryer— highly recommend!
Style: Limited Edition - SpeedStyle Pro Flex
This hair dryer is even better than I expected. I bought it after experiencing it as a client and I have been really happy with the purchase. There are so many useful features and accessories and the dryer works intuitively to set the heat and airspeed correctly for each attachment. It has auto shut off for safety and based on my stylist’s experience I expect it to last for a long time. I use almost all of the attachments every time I dry my hair but have not used the curl diffuser yet so I can’t comment on it. I am still exploring the heat protective options also. I can verify that it travels nicely as it folds conveniently into a small size and the pretty purple color is a bonus! So far I am very happy with this purchase and would absolutely recommend it. Can verify it works very well on long thick hair and shorter styles as well. ... show more

  • PROFESSIONAL HAIRDRESSER APPROVED
Style: Limited Edition - SpeedStyle Pro Flex
Hairstylist of 21 years approved! Literally the best hair dryer I’ve ever used. It’s incredibly lightweight even without the nozzle. The precision of the airflow is incredibly direct. Some people were saying that it was loud, but I do not think it’s loud at all.. at least not in comparison to other hair dryers used/owned, which is a lot considering the profession I’m in. I didn’t think I would use the other attachments that came with it but oh my God- they are now going to be an essential! I have a long fine / medium hair and because of my job, I have to make sure my hair looks on point all the time. This was purchased as my personal hairdryer however, I would definitely recommend this as a salon, professional level tool. The only critique I have is the power button- it is on the lower part of the handle which is annoying because instead of being able to turn it on or off with the flick of my finger I have to use both my hands to turn it on or off. Pretty annoying. However, because of the outstanding performance in literally every other category, I would still give it a 10 out of 10. That’s how much I love it. I have yet to use the diffuser, but I’m sure it’s awesome just like the rest of the attachments. ... show more

  • I recommend this product
Style: Limited Edition - SpeedStyle Pro Flex
The quality of this specific model is great! It's not super heavy, it does get hot and I love how it comes with all the accessories. However, do keep in mind this is pretty loud.

  • The perfect speedy travel dryer! ✈️
Style: Limited Edition - SpeedStyle Pro Flex
I have a Dyson AirWrap ID for home use, but I travel every month for work and wanted a smaller hairdryer for travel. This one will certainly get the job done— and it’ll do it more quickly in a more ergonomic package— but it’s not replacing my AirWrap when I’m at home. I’ll get into that in the cons list. Before I get into any of that, I’d strongly advise buyers to compare the price with Shark’s website before purchasing. I went there to buy the round touchup brush attachment and found that the pro dryer was on sale for half the cost of Amazon’s listing. 💸 It only comes with three attachments instead of four, BUT when ordering directly from Shark you can handpick each one and get only the ones that are best for your hair type. Even if you buy an extra attachment or two, it still might work out to be cheaper than Amazon’s price if you get lucky enough to find it on a killer sale like that. Anyway, onto the review. 👍🏼 PROS: 👍🏼 ✅Compact, folding design packs in half the space of the AirWrap. ✅ I saw some complaints about a large transformer box on the power cord— the folding pro model does not have one, so that’s a huge plus. The plug is large, but no larger than the one for the AirWrap (including photos for comparison). I’ve seen reviews complaining about the thick cord, but again, it is very similar to the AirWrap’s cord. Based on that, it seems to me this is simply the industry-standard hardware that’s required for a high-speed hairdryer at this power level. I can’t deduct stars for them building a product with the right hardware. ✅ Dries hair extremely fast! I timed myself and it was 11 minutes from start to finish for a full style, even including swapping between 3 attachments. For comparison, the Dyson takes me about 16 minutes. The faster dry time and smaller packing size makes the Shark an automatic yes for travel. ✅ My favorite feature that I wish my Dyson had is that the Shark automatically adjusts to the optimal air speed and temperature settings for each attachment as you swap between them. This definitely accounts for some of the time saved during styling. When I first got my Dyson, I literally had to write down the temperature and speeds for each attachment, and you have to manually adjust the settings during styling. No need for that here— just swap attachments and go. ✅ Comes with 4 large styling clips to separate hair layers during styling. These are a nice inclusion, and they actually work well. They are contoured and textured to hold hair securely. ✅ Has a cool shot button. The AirWrap ID does not, because Dyson replaced it with the ID Curl control. So annoying. This means you have to use the temperature switch every time you want to do a cool shot, and I’ve accidentally flipped the fan speed switch next to it instead so many times it’s uncountable. Drives me crazy. Better UI for the win. ✅ I love to see clear instructions to get your full money’s worth out of these expensive attachments, and this dryer comes with both written AND video instructions. The video instructions are accessed via QR code that is provided on a sticker attached to the dryer when it arrives. Very handy. The attachments also have stickers attached with tips for use. ✅ Has less of a painful, high-pitched sound than the AirWrap. The AirWrap, especially with the round brush, hurts my ears so much that I sometimes wear earplugs. ✅ On my hair type, the shininess, straightening, and frizz reduction is virtually the same as my Dyson. It is more than adequate for styling on the road. The one thing missing is that fresh-blowout bounce— I’ll get to that later. ✅ WAY more ergonomic than the Dyson. This is where the Shark hairdryer line really excels: a 90-degree-angle handle is easier on the arms for most styling scenarios. Holding the AirWrap vertically only really happens on the rare occasion I use the curling wand attachments. The rest of the time with all of the brush attachments and their Coanda smoothing attachment, I have to hold up the entire dryer parallel to the ground. It’s an awkward angle and poor distribution of weight that quickly makes my arms tired. With the Shark, I can just hold it normally; the nozzle and attachments are already horizontal with my hair. It’s almost like hairdryers were designed that way on purpose for decades to minimize arm fatigue. 😂 I was actually shocked when the Shark weighed in a tiny bit heavier than the Dyson, because it FELT so much lighter with its better weight distribution and center of gravity. The numbers as I weighed them are as follows: with no attachments, the Dyson is 12 oz (338 g) and the Shark is 13.8 oz (391 g). Including the cord and plug, the Dyson is 1 pound, 6.8 oz (644 grams), while the Shark is 1 pound, 9.2 oz (715 grams). In practice, though, the Shark feels lighter with its improved ergonomics. ✅ I like that the Touchup Brush spins so you can quickly and easily wrap your hair around it. It’s a detail that shows the thought and care that went into designing this dryer’s attachments for speed and efficiency. A tiny improvement would be for it to have a locking switch to start and stop the spinning so you wouldn’t have to manually hold it still when using it to brush through the hair. That and a large-barrel round brush option would make this dryer completely perfect for me. 👎🏼 CONS: 👎🏼 ❌ For this price, you’d expect ALL the attachments to be included with the pro model, but they are not. The Lift and Stretch wide-tooth comb and round Touchup Brush attachments are not included. Attachments are $30-40 on Shark’s website plus shipping, which to me is a bit steep after the price of the dryer. ❌ Overall, I prefer the final look of an AirWrap blowout to the SpeedStyle. This is where it loses a star for me, because a blowout is my daily go-to style. I’ve included comparison photos where I used the same hair products and comparable attachments and techniques. To me, the AirWrap result has noticeably more body and bounce. The problem is that the Touchup Brush only comes in one barrel size, while Dyson has a second, larger size to give long hair an extra volume boost. I’m including comparison shots of the two round brush attachments so you can see what I mean. That one detail is why this won’t replace my Dyson for home use, because when I’m at home with some extra time on my hands, I’ll gladly spend a few extra minutes with my AirWrap for that perfect bounce. That said, the Shark result is still sleek, polished, and shiny, as noted above. On the road, that’s good enough for me. ❌ The carrying bag it comes with is huge and not very packable. For the pro model that folds and travels so well, I’d love to see a sleeker carrying case come with it. I have the same gripe with my Dyson; they actually do make a nice, sleek travel case, but it is $60 extra and not included. 🫠 💡 FINAL THOUGHTS 💡 Despite the disparity in styling results, I am very satisfied with and will be keeping this dryer for travel. With the smaller size, lighter feel in the hand, faster dry time, and automatic heat/speed adjustments for quick, efficient swapping between attachments, this will be clutch for when I just need to get out of the hotel in the morning. If I had to choose one dryer for home use, I would stick with the AirWrap. But for travel? I easily choose this dryer over the AirWrap for all the reasons listed above. I’d also choose it over the newly-released Dyson Supersonic Travel because of the Shark’s folding, more compact design, better selection of attachments (Dyson’s Supersonic line is so disappointing on this front), and that auto-adjusting feature I love so much when swapping attachments. I was quite impressed with this dryer as an AirWrap user of several years, and it does everything I need it to on the go. As far as travel dryers go, this one is top of the line for me, and it competes solidly with Dyson for home use as well, especially if your hair type and use case doesn’t require the large-barrel round brush attachment like mine does. ... show more

Style: Limited Edition - SpeedStyle Pro Flex
Decided to spend more for a dryer and this was worth it. Quiet, lightweight, easy to use. All the accessories I wanted and big travel bag. Fits in my bathroom holder well and folds up easily. Several heat settings and doesn’t feel so hot to damage hair.
