Can't believe this works on my hair! I have thick course coily hair (african american). But I have a keratin treatment. I don't want to use damaing flat irons every day, as I'm getting older and my hair seems more fragile. I've tried a less expensive brand of air styler tools and it did not work for coily and frizzy hair. I've been using the Shark Glam for just over two weeks now, and it's awsome. I can blow dry my hair almost completely straight with the glossi air glosser and it leave great volume. I can use the silky air straightner to smooth and straighten or even curl my hair. This is combo is most effective for me. I do not need to flat iron my hair for several days afterward. I am still getting used to the air curlers. The curls don't seem to last long in my hair so I'm going to keep trying different techniques and see if i can't use those tools more. I am loving it so far!! My hair looks so much smoother and less frizzy than when I use a normal blow dryer and then a curling wand. I have health issues, and usually doing my hair (if I have the time and energy) after I wash it ends up leaving my arms feeling weak and tired, due to the angle I hold my blow dryer and curler at. This has completely fixed that issue for me! Not only does it seem to dry faster, but due to how long the dryer barrel is (plus the length of the attachment), I don't have to raise my elbows past chest level! When I use the curlers, I end up resting my arm against my body while I hold it in my hair, rather than holding it up by/around my head in odd positions. I honestly feel like this tool is giving me some of my life back, because I can look cute and styled without having to worry if its going to harm my body. The only negative I've noticed so far is that the curls don't stay well, but I knew and expected that before I bought it, and had the same issue when I tried a more expensive brand that my friend owns. I am following the instructions and using the cool shot for awhile, and when I first pull it out of my hair, my hair is coiled up by my chin! But it quickly falls into loose waves. On the plus side, it still has enough curl to it that my ends flare out, and still maintains some volume for a day or so. I own the predecessor to this model. I also own the Dyson air wrap. Without any question, this dryer is the best of them all. Definitely read the directions to understand the nuances between this and the other dryers. Every day I can achieve, professional looking, shiny healthy hair.
