After deliberating over a lot of reviews, I choose this mat. So far it is working to my liking. I am using it on linoleum because I was getting depressions on my floor from the wheels of my chair. I decided to try to protect the floor instead of having to replace. Quite a few of the reviews complained about not being able to roll out the mat flat and it sliding around. I did not have this problem. What I did is layed it out as flat as possible, in a warm garage, and let the heat do its thing. I put it on the floor and it was flat and stuck just fine. So far the mat is protecting the floor. I am glad to get more life out of the linoleum. I am happy with this product and would buy again. ... show more

It's been a few months so I don't remember the details, but there's some Discourse in the other reviews about whether it lies flat or slides around or whatever. What I did is paid attention to the reviews that said which side goes which direction. I also made sure to put heavy things on all the corners. It now works flawlessly, and I do not remember it taking a very long time to get to that point. I can roll my chair back and forth across the floor from my desk to my work table effortlessly, exactly as I'd hoped, and there's not a single thing about this mat that gets in the way or has to be remembered and considered and worked around. ... show more

My husband’s electric wheelchair was ruining my hardwood floor with deep scratches. I found this floor mat and it is great! Lays flat and it’s a nice size for my unusual use of it. It is sturdy. I’m taking a few minutes to write a review based on reaction from some of the other reviews I saw posted when I was shopping for a chair mat. I wanted to help out people that may be stressing out from some saying “looks nice but slides all over”. It doesn’t, read below to help you decide. I have been working from my home office for the last few months. So I needed a mat to put down on my hardwood floors to protect them from wear from my office chair. I wanted a clear mat so it doesn’t detract from the hard wood flooring. I also wanted one with a “lip” to go under the desk for my feet as well as a surface area for the chair. I found this 47”x36” one in the SHAREWIN Chair Mats for hard wood floors. Price was great at $26.99 and perfect footprint for looks and performance in a home office. So what’s the problem? Well, I kept seeing mixed reviews...some satisfied but some saying it slips and moves around too much. Oh no..who wants a chair mat that slips and moves around. Argh! Well, I decided to take a chance. I mean, at that price, it’s not a huge deal if it doesn’t work out. So, I place the order, I get the mat and now it’s time to put it to the test. First I unroll the mat and lay it down to straighten out and “uncurl”. They are shipped rolled up and wrapped, so they have to settle and lay down (time varies but usually by morning at room temperature they are flat). I put books on the corners of mine to help it flatten out. As I was doing that I did notice it seemed to slide around a bit. But, I gave it overnight to settle. The next day I pick up the books and it’s nice and flat. Now it’s on to the “slipping” test. I place it in front of my desk and *important* put the SLICK clear side down and the slightly textured/frosted side up. I put my chair on the mat. I rolled my chair around, pushed on the mat with my feet...and nothing, it stayed in place and worked perfectly fine...all day. Success! My search was over and I paid less than I had planned. Another great product found on Amazon. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and still no problems. If you pick up the sides and pull up it will lose contact with the floor and slide wherever you move it. Then simply place it back down flat on the floor and it stays in place. Don’t worry about people saying it slides all over. If it’s sliding on them then maybe it’s a polish or coating or something on their floor (or they have the wrong side down). This mat itself has no problems, it grips the floor and works well. So hopefully that helps out anyone on the fence like I was about it. Great price, great product, no worries. ... show more

I agree with other people that left a review. If you have hardwood floors, I recommend getting the clear mat as it won’t be an eye sore and just looks beautiful. Make sure to put something heavy on the mat that way it sticks and stays to the hardwood floors.

The mat is lightweight. This mat is working for the main purpose I purchased it . . . to protect my linoleum. If I want a firmer mat I will purchase something else.

I have used this mat for almost a year. It is holding up well and protects my flooring nicely. It will slide every now and then but I have not found a mat that doesn't. It is not showing any signs of wear.

    • Protects the floor but doesn't stay flat

Bottom line: this mat protects the hardwood floor, but doesn't stay flat. When I set up my home office, I didn't realize that my chair wheels would damage the hardwood floor over time. So after repairing the damage, I got this chair mat to prevent it from happening again. And it does the job. However, the mat is so thin that moving my chair while sitting stretches the mat, creating wrinkles and (before I attached it to the floor) sliding it around. About attaching it to the floor...it came with some little transparent gel-tape dots that can attach it to the floor. But using those at the 4 corners didn't work because of the stretching. Then I tried anchoring the center and that led to rotational wrinkles. Finally I settled on a radial pattern with some other gel tape I had which still lets the mat wrinkle, just not as much. Also, dirt is somehow getting under the mat. So while I'm not that happy with it I'm going to keep it as long as it lasts, because I already spent money on it and an approximately equal amount on gel tape trying to fix the sliding and wrinkles. ... show more
