  • Good basic machine
This makes good espresso for being a basic model. It's easy to use and has all the needed items to brew espresso and steam milk, though I'd suggest getting a metal steamer pot for your milk. Overall I'm satisfied with it.

  • Nice but messy
Might be me, but this is surely messy. Maybe after wees of practice I’ll get good. But there was milk all over. Even after every time I think I got all the milk off the steamer arm, I go and find more dried up milk on steamer arm . Very stylish, decent price and makes a great espresso. Does not take up a ton of room. Practice makes perfect ! ... show more

  • All in one Espresso / Frother Machine
The media could not be loaded. A great way to explore espresso and learn the ropes. Setup was very easy - the kit includes all parts including a coffee scoop. The filter is marked with lines for 1 to 4 cups (Note - although not explained, one 'cup' = 2 oz). Instructions say the minimum amount of water you should put in the tank is 2 cups (4 oz) and Max is 4 cups (8 oz). I found the 4-cup brew is just about right for 2 people. After brewing, which only took a few minutes from power on until done, once cool, the grounds release cleanly from the filter cup as a single 'puck'. Don't forget to clean off the spray-head that is above the filter cup inside the espresso machine. After waiting a minute or two for it to cool a bit, I added 4 more ounces of water to try the frother. It started producing steam after about 60 - 90 seconds and really did froth up the milk I had in the cup - however - I don't think the wand is quite long enough to reach the bottom of a cup large enough to froth milk without an overflow. Once the milk has been frothed - you need to hold the cup up while switching the machine either to OFF or to PAUSE - or the steam will blow the froth out of the cup (ask me how I know). When done frothing, I found a layer of firmly dried milk not only on the removable plastic part of the frother, but Also on the stainless steel (SS) inner tube. Unfortunately the SS tube is not removable, and cleaning it is a Pain. After frothing was complete and the machine is cool, you need to remember to empty any remaining water out of the tank (not so for espresso, as all the water is boiled out). While not as much of a show, for me in the future, I'll use my electric milk frothing whizzer in the unlikely event I feel a need to produce froth for my espresso. For me the espresso flavor was excellent (I did add some sweetener and the frothed milk). The coffee was freshly ground in my burr grinder set to 'fine' (Not Extra Fine - as instructions caution this may clog the filter). I am happy with this espresso machine and look forward to using it again. ... show more

  • Espresso tastes good - knob is difficult to turn
What do I like about this machine? The espresso taste good and the machine works fairly quickly. The machine is small and doesn't take up much space. It's easy to use. Now, for what I don't like about the product. I don't like that you cannot control the steam output when you're frothing your coffee. There is a knob and it is for brewing, pausing, release off, and frothing. There's no in between so you can't really control the amount of steam. I also don't like that when your frothing, the knob is on one side and the frother is on the other. And in order to turn the steam off, you have to move the knob two positions over to pause the steam to remove the cup out from under out the frother. The knob is hard to turn, so it's not an easy thing to do. Because of this, my milk, was scalded and over frothed because it was difficult for me to hold the cup under the frother with one hand and to turn the knob with the other. I suppose, with practice, it may get better. I am hoping the knob gets easier to turn as time goes on. I'm not optimistic about that, though Overall, I would give this machine 3 out of 5. I do not like it as well as my other espresso maker. ... show more

  • Good espresso machine for the price: Be careful with release/off switch!
This espresso machine works well, and the milk steamer is powerful--you might need a bigger jug or cup than you expect for that. I have not figured out exactly how much coffee and water I need to get the strength I like, but that's my problem. I bought this thinking it might be a cheaper alternative to Nespresso pods (and less fiddly than my moka pot), but I suspect that the machine is more suitable for making coffee than I usually make--probably it works better for 2 cups or one very large cup than for the one small cup. Nonetheless, it works pretty well. The directions are a bit hard to follow as the English is not very clear, and there is one warning I'd like to give: BE CAREFUL WITH THE RELEASE/OFF SETTING. When you turn it to that setting, all the steam is released through the milk steamer. If your hand happens to be close to the steamer when you do that, you could get a nasty steam burn. One other thing: I discovered that the black part of the steamer slides off so that you can clean the stainless steel tube underneath. Finally, open the machine as soon as you receive it. In mine, there was a note saying that the warrantee can be extended to two years if you contact the company with the order number within 3 days. I think I met the deadline, but I will let you know! Overall, if you want an espresso machine but can't afford an expensive one, this is a good solution. ... show more

  • Great Gift
Great gift! This espresso machine is nice and compact so it doesn't take up much counter space like other appliances. The frother works good and it's basic and easy to use. Very pleased.
