I've replaced three sinks around my house in the last year, and I did all of them by crunching my body under the sink and grunting and struggling against rusted washers with a normal crescent wrench. I wish I had known that this style of wrench existed. I tried it out on a new sink replacement, and WOW - it really saved me from all of the banging and wrangling I had to do previously. I love that it the wrench swivels both ways to make sure that you can loosen/tighten no matter which orientation you are requiring. The sliding handle bar makes getting leverage on the twist so easy. I had one of these very similar in my plumbing bag for years. When I am installing some faucets and water lines, I need a tool like this to tighten and loosen the nuts. The nut might be in a spot where only a wrench like this will get to it. My old one had the spring fall out which made it useless. The first thing I checked out on this one is that it looks like it has a good spring, and that it is just fine and will hold up well. The head on this one is pretty tight too, so it stays in the position you put it. The jaws open up easy and grab on good. This is not a high end tool, but it is great for what it is. It should have no problem holding up for many jobs. Looks like it was made well enough to last a while. I like it a lot.

Swapping out a kitchen faucet has always been a real test of patience for me. Getting under the sink (usually by bending backwards into it) and reaching those nuts way up behind the basin is usually a miserable job, especially since I am not built for squeezing into tight spaces. I saw this basin wrench and figured it was worth a shot to make things a bit easier next time around. When I tackled the faucet replacement, this wrench made a noticeable difference. Its long handle and adjustable head let me get a solid grip on the nuts that were almost impossible to reach with regular tools. What usually ends up being a frustrating, forty minute contortionist act became much more manageable. It definitely saved me a lot of hassle and bruises on a job I dread.

This is a standard basin wrench, a tried-and-proven design that I've known for 60 years of doing maintenance work. It has all the features I've wanted that other basin wrenches didn't always have. The jaws at the end swivel to whatever angle you might like, and the jaws are spring-loaded to fit whatever size you need. As you should in all Amazon items, look at ALL the graphics on the left side of the Amazon listing - there's important information there. Included are a small roll of plumbing tape and a pair of one-use plastic gloves, and a sticker - I don't know why.

I was having such a tough time installing a bathroom sink faucet, the connections were tucked behind the sink and right up against the wall. I struggled for more than three weeks, but once this basin wrench arrived, everything changed. Even if you’re not tackling a plumbing project right now, I honestly recommend grabbing one of these to have on hand. With this tool, I had all the connections tightened in less than 10 minutes. It’s extremely intuitive to use and lives up to everything it promises. I especially appreciate the pivoting head and the adjustable handle, which made maneuvering in tight spaces simple. It feels solid and durable, and I’m confident it will be a mainstay in my toolbox for years to come.
