For her first ever fishing adventure, I got her this fishing pole. I started with something similar with a blue & white Mickey one. The "princess" part was one measly sticker that will probably peel off soon. The cardboard packaging had more of the princesses on it than the fishing pole. Underwhelming princess aspect aside, which doesn't affect the functionality or performance and quality, so it's nbd, the fishing rod & reel were easy to use & designed well. She practiced casting the day before with the practice weighted fish. To everyone's surprise, she caught (then released) 6 fish her first time fishing. The fish were hungry. My husband caught some fish with her fishing pole also. He said it was easy if not easier than his to cast & reel in. Of course, it's meant for smaller hands and smaller fish. This is our favorite thing to gift to other kids. My daughter loves her fishing pole and the practice weight. She can cast it over 20 feet at 3 years old. She’s learning how to reel and we will teach hook safety but she mostly likes practicing inside or in the yard. Works well for fishing.
