My first few years of ice fishing, I either used $10-15 ice combos or homemade jigging rods. Neither offered the sensitivity and action a true dedicated ice rod offers. I am a simple guy and use ugly sticks for other types of fishing. I find them to be an amazing combo of value, durability, and quality. This combo continues that trend. The reel is good for the money. The rod has a soft tip with a good lower backbone. The construction has proven to be as durable as my other ugly sticks.
