I purchased the 6’6 4-piece medium heavy rod and reel. I travel for work all over the US and internationally. I was looking for something that broke down small enough to fit in my suitcase or attached to my backpack as a carry on. This rod breaks down into 4 - 21” pieces and comes with a bag to carry the rod and reel. I caught some decent largemouth bass with it first trip out and so far has been great. I have this same rod in a 1 piece the feel pretty similar. Definitely recommend this rod if you do travel or are looking for something that does break down. ... show more

This is a great rod and reel but for me the back end of the rod is too long and gets in then way and also with it being 1 piece it’s hard to travel with

Go with the single rod option. I like the convenience of a 2 rod option I have with other rods but it's a fail on the GX2. order fulfillment experience: Goodness gracious... who packaged this rod at the AMZN warehouse? Very poorly packaged. Just head to Cabelas/BPS. I would've returned the rod for a replacement but was too eager to test it out. ... show more

This a very acceptable rod and reel set that is ready to go. Doesn’t have an anti-reverse switch, so you can’t unreel line without opening the bail, but you can still manage. Rod is also good, I like the light colored rod tip.
