The good: nice ultralight rod. The smallest bluegill feels like a huge bass on the line. It casts very well & smooth The bad: reel is cheaply made. It literally came apart on me several times while trying to feed the prespooled line up the rod.

This is a very nice set up, beautiful and light weight. Only problem I had was upon giving this as a gift the tip was broken off. So most likely from shipping. So working on trying to get rod replaced. The product is very nice and I would recommend this product 👌

Was showing the flex of the rod to my daughter and it broke in my hands. Not much pressure was applied to cause the break. It's an ultralight. It should flex tip to tip. At this point, I am done with Shakespeare. Also, the spool on the reel has way too much wobble. Cheap junk. Get what ya pay for. Not even mad or asking for a refund. Disappointed. Dollar for dollar, this is the most fun you'll have fishing. The only problem is that Amazon ships them almost completely loose inside a square-profile mailer and easily 50% of the shipments are damage (typically bent guides or missing guide rings. You're nearly guaranteed to be sending one back immediately on receipt.
