After pricing the cost of paying to have my awning replaced, I decided to do it myself. It wasn't too tough, but it's definitely a 2 to 3 person job. The spring was a little tricky - we used a needle nose Visegrips to clamp to the shaft because our full sized Visegrips didn't open wide enough to clamp to the end. The material is sturdy and attractive. The stitching is straight, clean, is clear of any visible defects. The awning is an inch or 2 narrower than the awning it replaced, but the same length or slightly longer. The result looks good and functions correctly. Time will tell on how well it holds up. I'll update my review after a year or two of use as it's too early to know how well it'll hold up.

This is a great replacement awning. Easy to install and the fabric material was of good quality. We would recommend this to anyone looking to replace a worn out awning. We are in our 60's and had no problem installing it. Lot's of videos on YouTube to learn how to do this.

The awning fabric on our 11 year old travel trailer had taken a beating after being stored for several years at our membership campground, being used infrequently and parked with the entry doors and awning facing the southern sky. Bad news, as over time UV rays and weather will destroy practically everything. I had never replaced awning fabric or hardware, but I know which end of a hammer is the business end, and after attending the University of YouTube, I was confident that I could get this done. After measuring the fabric (correctly), I placed my order and was amazed when the new fabric was on my doorstep two days later. The 19' fabric was 18'2", just as I expected, and was folded two or three times lengthwise, fitting into a box probably four feet long. The fabric itself is at least as thick, if not thicker than the Dometic power awning that had been on the trailer since we purchased it new in 2012. I managed to replace the fabric by myself, at the campground but it took six hours, and as many have mentioned, a second person to help guide the unwieldy fabric into the top channel at the roof would have been very helpful. Many of the complaints here are almost certainly due to user error, but to be fair, a lot of RV components seem to have been designed almost as an afterthought. Why does the roller tube have end caps that are riveted on, without openings for the fabric grooves? It's possible because there is an opening to allow lights or other accessories to be slid into the third channel. It's just a lazy, cheap design that allows for a few end caps to work with every roller tube around. Time will tell how long this fabric lasts, but for the couple hundred dollars I spent, it seems to be well worth it. I may need to make a few more adjustments to get rid of some wrinkles, but I'm happy with the product so far!

Good looking awning and was not difficult to install with help from two other people. The top edge slid in easy enough with two others assisting pulling and elevating while I guided the awning into the track. Similarly, the roller edge had plenty of room between the two seams it wasn't overly tight at all, nor difficult to get started. At times the piping would want to hang up, trying to walk out of the grooves, so holding it down as it was inserted into the roller, made sliding it along more smooth. Just use plenty of silicone lube, and again, having two helpers really helps. The hardest job was getting the tension on the springs correct... so watch plenty of YouTube videos and be prepared to redo your efforts. It took us 3 attempts to get both ends wound in the correct direction and with enough tension to roll up the awning. The appearance and feel of the awning as well as knowing the awning wont fight you getting it installed, makes this purchase a "no brainer". Get it orderd. The green is very nice looking on our Wilderness camp trailer.

Takes two people to install. had to slide both upper and lower sections as same time which took a while to complete. About 2 hours taking my time. After some adjustments the awning worked well and provided the expected result without wrinkle.
