Everything that was needed to put the bed together was there. It doesn't squeak as long as you use all of the washers as instructed. The instructions are easy to read and follow. I like these beds and purchased 3 (2-Black units &1- White) for our GK's use at the summer cottage. All the hardware was with the units along with some spare parts. (a positive) But negative #1, some reviewer complain about the noise (rattling), this is probably from installing the plastic cross bar retaining clips in the incorrect direction. This may be because they install relatively easy in this direction. My problem was, that when you install them in the correct direction, they are super difficult to install and take a ton of time to do them correctly. And remember I'm building 3. When installed correctly, I had no rattles, but spent an hour (plus) and a lot of $%&#$* doing it. And I'm a very handy, hands-on kind of guy. So for me, this was a negative. For build #2 & #3, I installed the clips the easy other direction and then I laid a bead of clear silicon chalk between the side rails and the cross bars (picture) and this did the trick. Negative thing #2, I needed the ladder to be able to be positioned on the other end of the bed because of our space constrains and ceiling fan position in the room. During the original manufacturing process this would be very easy complete, and would make the units more universal for the consumer. So easy to follow instructions and build. Would suggest 2 people to build it. Color is perfectly white. Size is accurate for a regular twin mattress. Ladder is uncomfortable to climb so will be buying cushions for it but other than that it’s perfect. It’s lasting so we’re excited about the purchase!

This is almost an excellent product. Unfortunately, after 90 minutes or so of assembly, you’re going to find out that the ladder—a crucial component that gets put together right at the end—does not work. Like, at all. It doesn’t even touch the ground. Literally. There’s a gap of about a quarter inch when this thing is all tightened up. The instruction manual implores you to do a loose fit on the ladder assembly before tightening everything down, but it makes absolutely no difference. It floats loose, and it floats tight, and there’s zero adjustability to get the ladder working safely. I was hoping this would be an isolated issue, but I actually assembled two of these at the same time, and both ladders have the same problem. From the product reviews, I see that some people have repurposed the bedpost end-caps as little ladder extensions, but they don’t really work for that. They’re too big to fit snugly, and there’s still too much clearance and bounce/wobble on my hard floors. Maybe deep, thick carpet could save this thing, but i doubt it. This really is a pity. Thankfully, Amazon is sending someone to disassemble and haul l these things off, so I’ll get my refund, but it’s still a major time suck and something of a disappointment. I really like the design of these beds outside of this one small but totally deal-breaking problem. Assembly was actually very easy (if time consuming—especially if you’re building two of them at the same time; I learned my lesson on that, trust me), and they look very nice. But those ladders. Dang. I wish there was a way to fix this expediently, but I’m not about to cut up tennis balls for this thing. The ladder is just plain unsafe to use, and I’m not apt to try to salvage something like this. Your luck may be different than mine, and if it is, this is probably a five-star product. Great value. I found it easy to assemble, but I have power tools with matching hex bits. Once all screws were tightened it is sturdy and squeak-free. Ladder has thinner bars that may not be comfortable for all feet.

Cute and sturdy bed. Easy to assemble except for the little tabs you have to insert into the bottom rails where the mattresses lay. They are hard to get in and my fingers hurt for days following. Other than that, it's a great bed!
