For me, my mattress with no box spring covers most of the wooden headboard so it wasn't a big deal BUT the wood was chipped. That was my only worry with this model was the two large pieces of that "wood" slab shipping to my home with no damage. Everything is packaged well, took me about an hour to put together myself, a LOT of stuff to through away after putting it together as far as boxes and wrappings and foam but I'd rather it be overstuffed with padding like that I guess. Overall, for the price and the look I'm very happy with it, I feel like the headboard took the bulk of the time to put together and then the rest you could kind of build off the headboard so it was good. The chips I was able to mostly hide either on the backside of the bed that faces the wall or with my mattress covering it anyway so no harm no foul. This is a sturdy bed frame so far and if you just follow the directions it goes together fairly easy. I liked the fact that the threads were all in place and actually matched. I also liked the fact that a 14 inch mattress fits well. In my opinion, for the money, it's hard to beat, but mine is only a couple weeks old. The one con and is kinda of a big one is the mattress will slide around until wieght is applied. I purchased mattress stoppers for the sides, about $10-15 dollars. Had they included these, I would of rated it a 5. I'm confident the bed gets more use than just sleeping, so if you order this and it is a good deal, get the .78 mattress stoppers also, the rails are .75 but get the ones with screws so you can easily tighten them up. ... show more

I recently moved into my first solo apartment. Since it is a studio, I wanted an aesthetically pleasing bedframe that wasn't too bulky and didn't break the bank. This frame met all of those needs! It's the first thing you see when you walk into the door and it looks great. It's very sturdy and the rubber inserts that lock the metal slats in keep them from creaking and rattling getting in and out of bed. There are grips on the top parts of the side rails that keep the mattress from sliding around. If you have hard flooring, the legs have enough grip to keep the bed planted with normal use, but it is easy to slide and move the bed at least on laminate to clean or rearrange it. Like other reviews mentioned, it comes very well packed with all the parts clearly labelled and easy to follow directions and diagrams. The wrench provided is enough to assemble the bed. The box was very heavy, so you definitely want to have a hand in moving. I was able to assemble it myself in about 2 hours, but it is faster and safer to have two people, especially when you have to attach the first side to the headboard as neither part is stable on their own. The only thing I wish was that the head board was a little taller so that more of the wood is visible with four pillows on it. I have a 10" mattress on it for reference. Definitely doesn't need a boxspring. Really cannot recommend this bed enough! ... show more

I bought this because I have a temperpedic mattress and the base that goes with it, I was unable to bring it upstairs due to how the house and stairs are made. Assembling was east, however, the bed was not well supported with this base to sleep in. I slept in it for a weeks with severe back pain, insomnia overall discomfort to the point I brought the mattress back to its original base. If the return cost wasn’t so high I would’ve returned it. This is a gorgeous, sturdy and easy to assemble bed. Good space for storage underneath. The only thing we noticed is that the king mattress did not fill up the entire frame, and the mattress was sliding on the metal slats. It did not have any grippers on it, so we had to add some double sided sticky tape on the slats to secure the mattress in place. ... show more

I ordered this product having high hopes. It’s a beautiful bed frame and a good price. But that’s about it. After just a few months the bed frame started making awful squeaky sounds with the slightest movement. I contacted the seller and they instructed me to take the bed frame apart and rebuild it, after doing that it still makes the noises. Then the seller requested I send them a photo of the bed frame without the mattress on it. I do not know how that will help them see the problem. So after back and fourth they have offered me a partial refund as a solution. Honestly if I was selling a product I would take more pride in my items. If you are on a budget and okay with it making noise then this is a okay option. My advice, wait a little longer and find a better bed frame. ... show more

My one and only gripe about this product is that the box is much heavier than listed in the product description. The seller lists this item at 30 lb, it's actually closer to 80 lb per labeling on the box itself. So if you have a problem lifting heavy weights or live alone, get a friend to help or really sturdy dolly. A dolly and a friend was the only way I was able to get this product out of my car and into my house. The main thing that I was really surprised about was how well packaged this product was. Almost every single piece was individually wrapped in its own plastic bags and there were slices of styrofoam all around. You see and read horror stories on Amazon all the time about people getting products that comes with little to no packing material. That was not the case with this product. You do need to be careful to make sure not to scratch the metal parts of the bed against other metal parts of the bed, especially with the ends of the pipes. The powder coating on the metal parts is not impervious to scratching from itself. Other than that, this bed was very easy to put together. The instructions are very clear. And the bed is very sturdy. So far no squeaking. ... show more

My husband and I had a full size bed. It was my bed from 18yrs ago (before I met him) and has served us well for 10yrs. Between dogs, cats and the kid, it being a full size meant one of us ended up on the couch most nights. But I loved my metal bed frame design and didn't want to give it up to get a bigger bed. This set finally convinced me and omg is it a game changer! We love the simple design of metal and wood. It fits perfectly in our bedroom now (which is of course the last room we are redoing in our house). The price could not be beat either. Overall not a bad bed frame for the money . The frame seems to be sturdy so far . We have chosen to use a box spring and mattress on the frame this does make the bed overall a little tall but not too tall . The color combination of black and wood look nice together. The metal does not creek or make any sound, this was a concern when I purchased it however at this point we have had no issues . Assembly took about an hour . The direction weren't very clear however after figuring out a few of the pieces it was easier to determine what the manufacturer was trying to get across in the instructions. Update after having the bed frame since August its starting to squeak some . I was hesitant to purchase worried this would be a issue since it's all metal . I still feel it's sturdy however the squeaking is a issue . We plan to take it apart and try to adjust it or add some foam padding to help with this . ... show more

We love the look of the bed! It is attractive and sturdy, well packed and its a keeper. However, we really struggled with assembly. The instructions were pretty clear, and simple, actually. But we wre older, 73, 78 Out of shape, i guess ..alrhough we do alright, never realized we couldnt put a simple bed together. Blush, it took us six hours! Bad backs, arthritis, etc. not the bed’s fault! But it did take the wind out of our sails, and temper our excitement. We sleep fine on it so far. I love the look of the bed. We purchased it Dec. 2021, and loved that it didn't need a box spring for our queen mattress. Assembly took a couple hours, and wasn't as easy as described. The lining up of holes for the bolts wasn't always correct. Overall, a sturdy nice-looking frame, but definitely isn't noise-free.
