I selected this bed for the loft in our little Victorian guest cottage for when friends and family stayed with their children. The cottage has a Victorian flair which this bed fits perfectly into. The bed can be set up as two twin beds or one bunk bed to save floor space. We opted to set it up as two twins since it is in a loft space with not a lot of head room. The beds work perfectly for us as they are not very tall with the mattresses on them. giving the kids more headroom when they sit up being that they are in an attic space and the ceiling/roof is there. The quality of the bunk bed is good. We found it to be quite stable when assembled as a bunk bed (I felt that I needed to test this option for the vine review). I also like that the bars for the upper bunk were so close together. We had our boys in bunk beds when they were small, and I was always concerned about how the rail was. I ended up adding wood to what had been included because the rail was so far apart that it scared me. This bed offers a good coverage. I wouldn't be afraid to put a small child up there with this spacing or using it as a toddler bed if setting up as two twins. I like that this bed offers two different methods to assemble: Twin over twin bunkbed or two twin beds. It makes it easy to go from one method to the other for changing seasons. For instance, when the boys first got their bunk bed they were just 4 and 5 years old. They weren't quite ready for it (or maybe it was me being nervous) either way, we set it up as two twins. but within a couple of years we were ready to put them up. They needed more floor space in their room for desks and dressers too. So, setting it up as a bunk bed was very helpful. Later, we moved one of the boys to a smaller room down the hall so that each had their own space. We took the bunk beds apart and now they each have a twin in their rooms. So, I feel that a bunk bed that can become two twins is a great investment for the long haul. And I really like the style of this one. The finish is durable and the design is beautiful. Happy to have made this investment.

Only rating this a one because there’s nothing lower. After having the bed just about done we realized we weren’t able to put the screws in place because part of the top pole was covering majority of the hole where the screws go. Also the mattress rods wouldn’t go into place because they were too long. Bed was also super scratched. Customer service wasn’t able to help me. I live in the middle of nowhere and don’t have the vehicle to return the bed so I’m unable to get a refund. Just save your money.

We chose the two twin bed configuration instead of the bunk bed setup, and it's been a fantastic addition to our home. I am very impressed with this bunk bed! The vintage design is beautiful and adds a stylish touch to the room. Sturdy, I absolutely love this steel bedframe because obviously this is for kids and kids. Don’t know how to act specifically mine… it is very strong endurable. All of the slats are screwed in so this definitely survives WWE night. Highly recommend it wasn’t complicated to put together very simple and it took us maybe a couple hours. It’s easy to decorate with because you literally can go any direction.
