I purchased this to use with an Intel X710-DA2 (Dell G54KD, dated 05/2021) in a Debian 13 test system before deploying to Proxmox/pfSense. Setup: • Intel X710-DA2 (i40e driver, firmware 8.40) • Ubiquiti Flex 2.5G PoE switch with 10G SFP+ uplink • 0.5m passive DAC Results: The cable was accepted immediately by the X710 with no firmware flashing or modification required. Both ports negotiated cleanly at 10G full duplex. ethtool reports 10000Mb/s and link stability has been solid. I also tested a loopback between both ports on the X710 using this DAC and both sides linked at 10G instantly. No compatibility warnings, no unsupported module messages, no negotiation issues. If you’re running an Intel X710 and worried about vendor coding drama, this DAC worked perfectly in my case without touching firmware. I’m using this cable between my QNAP NAS and a switch, and it was recognized immediately. All devices report the link as 10Gb, and the connection has been stable with no drops or errors. I’m including a photo showing the interface registering at 10Gb. The 1-meter length was exactly what I needed for a short connection between devices. It keeps things clean without extra slack, and the cable itself feels solid and well made. I don’t currently have another device that can fully take advantage of 10Gb speeds, so I haven’t been able to do real-world throughput testing yet. That said, everything detects the cable correctly, negotiates at full speed, and behaves the way a proper SFP+ DAC should. One thing to note is that the connectors fit very tightly. Unplugging it takes some effort, and the release tab feels stiff enough that I’m careful when removing it. It hasn’t caused any issues, just something to be aware of. For a short SFP+ connection where you want something that’s recognized correctly and works without configuration, this cable has done what I needed so far and leaves room for future upgrades. ... show more

Works great with legacy unify switch and unify 16 port Poe switch. Legacy switch has 1gb sfp and new unify has 10gb sfp. Links right up at 1gb as expected. No config needed. Great alternative to name brand product.

I wanted to connect a 2.5gb/s switch into my gb switch and needed an SFP solution to provide the best throughput possible. This DAC (direct attach copper) solution provided exactly what I needed at an incredibly reasonable price. Now I have a 10gb/s connection between my switches for less than $10! That is less than the price of most SFP's! What a great value for the money. I am very happy with my purchase.
