  • Excellent All-In-One Irrigation Emitter / Stake
We bought & used 2 packs of these drip emitters for 2 separate projects: To irrigate our raise garden beds and to set-up a system for our hedge of Podocarpus bushes at the yard's perimeter. This allowed us to go on vacation without any worries about our plants. These particular emitters are great because they are adjustable flow drip emitters and stakes all in one product! Here is what we used for our irrigation systems: (Qty 1) Timer Orbit 3-Outlet Programmable Hose Faucet Timer (Qty 2) 50-Pack Drip emitters Axe Sickle (Pack of 50) Drip Emitters Perfect for 4mm/7mm Tube, Adjustable 360 Degree Water Flow Drip Irrigation System for flower beds, vegetable gardens, herbs gardens. (Qty 4) 100' Irrigation tubing 1/4'' Gunsamg 1/4'' Blank Distribution Tubing Drip Irrigation Hose (100foot), KORAM Drip Irrigation 1/4 Blank Distribution Tubing Drip Watering Hose 100ft Roll with Plant Garden Labels (Qty 2) 30-Pack 1/4" Coupling fitting Rain Bird BC25-30PS Drip Irrigation Universal 1/4" Barbed Coupling Fitting, Fits All Sizes of 1/4" Drip Tubing, 30-Pack (Qty 2) Hose end plugs Raindrip 304G00UB 5/8-Inch Hose End Plug with 3/4-Inch Cap, Loose (Qty 1) Soil / moisture / pH tester Soil Tester, Deepow 3-in-1 Soil Moisture Meter, Soil Ph Meter Kit for Moisture, Light & pH - Helpful for Garden, Lawn, Indoor & Outdoor, High Accurate & Easy Read Indicator (No Battery needed) How to Use These Emitters: - Place the emitter stakes strategically so that the plant's root ball will be kept damp but not soaked. - Adjust the flow for each plant and again every season according to the plant size. TIP: Remember to reaccess requirements as they grow and needs change! - Use a timer to water twice a day for only 5 or 10 minutes, depending on the plant's needs and weather. - Test to make sure the moisture is getting where you want it. TIP: Don't assume rain means you can turn off the irrigation system. Leaves can redirect rainwater so it doesn't actually reach the roots! - We didn't add a fertilizer injector to the faucet assembly this time, but we might try this step next year so we can feed our plants while we water. TIP: Don't forget to Install a good filter and change it every few months or at least once a season, especially if you have alkaline, mineral-rich, or well water. MORE TIPS: - To make the tubing MUCH easier to work with, just soak it in warm to hot water or lay it out in the sun for a little while to soften. - Be sure to hold the hole punch at a right angle to the tubing when you punch a hole and you'll get a perfect seal around the barb of the emitter. - Always a good idea to flush the system a bit before installing emitters to clear any debris. - Create your lateral lines (1/4-in. tubing and emitters) BEFORE hooking them up to the main line. - ALWAYS cut the tubing LONGER than needed! Much easier to trim off excess than to try to come up with additional lengths of tubing if miscut too short! - Your emitters farthest from the faucet will need to be set on a freely flowing adjustment due to loss of water pressure. Why do you need an automatic drip irrigation system for your container or raised garden? Simple. Containers dry out so quickly that they often require once or even twice daily watering in hot weather. So just bite the bullet and do it. These emitters worked perfectly for our irrigation systems in our veggie garden as well as for the perimeter hedge, so I don't have to lug around hoses to water them each day. A real time-saver that we should have done long ago. Recommended & will buy again! ... show more

  • Works quite well - good flow rate & distance
Economical yet works quite well - even better (flow rate & distance/radius) than those from Rainbird which I’ve used in the past. I’ve gone through about a hundred of these and don’t recall seeing any defect. The darn squirrels/rodents keep chewing off the head/cap every so often. Will give 6 stars if this can be made rodent-proof. ... show more

  • Inconsistent and Difficult to Connect
Do these emit water, yes. Are they easy to install, kind of. I was looking to take my micro-drip game to the next-level as our raised garden has expanded. We have tomatoes, lettuce, pumpkin, cucumber, beats, peppers, etc. What I've found is that drip is great, but some plants really need a sprayer, and some need a localized stream of water. I, incorrectly, thought I could do both distributed and localized water streams. While you can get a larger radius of water by turning the top of the drip emitter; it just puts out way too much water. If you're trying to perform drip irrigation with these, they work okay. My frustration has been the inconsistent flow-rates. You can turn the nozzle 3 clicks, and one will drip at 1/4 gph and another will be flowing freely at 2 gph. If you slightly pull up on the screw cap, it also affects the flow-rate. So if you want, or have the time to actively manage the emitters you can get a consistent flow. These shouldn't be used for things like lettuce, where you want to spread out water distribution. They do work well for tomatoes and peppers as you can open them up a bit as the weather gets hotter to put down more water. I don't have experience with other emitters, but I'm modestly happy with these. They seem to be durable. Be warned that the barb that holds on the 1/4 tubing is "sharp" and makes it difficult to both install and nearly impossible to remove the 1/4 tubing. ... show more

  • Cheaper than big box store
Works just as well and a lot cheaper than what you would buy from the big box stores

  • Not horrible but not Great
I purchased these to change out my existing Rainbird adjustable drip heads. Those were working fine but I wanted the ability to stake them near the plant. Overall these are not bad but with a big caveat. 1) They do not adjust well all the way down. For example if you are like me and you have various plants on the same irrigation zone that require various amounts of water therefore you adjust each head accordingly these do not adjust to a small trickle. It is either all ON or OFF. They adjust gradually between medium and fully opened but not if you just want "a little" water. When I did that on mine the line burst/popped. I tried it again with a little bit more water (so less of a restriction) and again it disconnected from the main line watering my entire lawn in the process. So in THIS regard they do not work as well as the more expensive Rainbird or Orbit brands sold at the big box store. 2) The other problem I encountered (like other reviewers have pointed out) is that the barb that goes into the 1/4 line is bigger than a usual one so it's harder to push in and therefore more likely to break in the process. I was able to get all of mine in without breaking them but they were not as easy to install as other brands. Overall if you need adjustable drip heads that will be running "fully opened" or a little less than that you will be fine with these but if you need to adjust these down to a trickle for what ever reason then these might not work for you. I usually like to buy generics over big more expensive brands but in this case less money does mean less quality. ... show more
