I decided to replace my old plastic cutting boards with wood. After reading a lot, I realized some woods are too soft and leave deep cutting marks. Others are too hard and dull knives. Acacia Wood seemed to be somewhere in the middle. Not having bought a cutting board in way too long, the price of wooden boards was a lot higher than I expected. I strongly considered getting cheap ones and frequently replacing as needed. Then I saw these. They seemed a good compromise; not horrendously expensive, but expensive enough to suggest some quality. I have not been disappointed. My first response on opening the package is how beautiful they are. I hesitated to post a picture because it doesn't begin to do them justice. I had a place in a drawer planned for them, but they haven't made it off the counter. I also hesitated the first time I used one. If this is truly soft enough wood to not dull my knives, it was sure to show the cutting marks and make them less beautiful. Since one side is for meat and the other for most everything else, and the packages comes with two, I decided to just use one board for meat and one for the rest. That way I could enjoy the uncut side. I've used one several times now. I can't vouch for if it dulls knives or not because I've only had it a few weeks. It does, indeed, leave cutting marks as expected. Much to my surprise, though, those marks didn't make it look bad (at least, not to me.) I can't come up with the word I'm looking for, but basically the knife marks just make it look lovingly used. I can still enjoy the looks. The company sends an email explaining care and the one year warranty. I don't know if it's standard to get those on cutting boards or not; I am pleased they offer it. Since I have a history of using plastic boards, the care information was very helpful. In short, these boards are gorgeous. I like them so well I have to resist looking at other boards from this company, because I don't need more than two. If you're looking for cutting boards that leave no marks, this isn't the one. I wasn't willing to potentially sacrifice knife quality to get one that hard. If you're looking for an overall good cutting board, beautiful to look at, a reasonable price, and a good company to purchase from, this is it. ... show more

If you are wanting a fabulous hostess gift or needing to swap out your plastic or old wood cutting boards, this pair is an excellent choice. Came beautifully packaged in a gift box that was custom fitted for each board. Each board is polished so there is only a little-to-no absorption of liquid when using it, and the wood is just soft enough to get tiny cut marks in it to minimize knife slip. Though the surface gets a little roughed up after repeated use, it is typical of a wood board. Also recommend using food-grade mineral oil once a month to condition the wood and minimize appearance of the tiny cut marks. I like the fingertip grips on the ends of the boards, making them easy to pick up, clean and store. Each board can be used on either flat surface; one with a mote around it if cutting juicy things, or the other side where the entire surface is flat and you can chop and slide the ingredients right off the edge. Each board has enough weight where it doesn't move when using, and looks beautiful, even after a long time in use. The cutting boards are perfect in sizes, with each one being used equally. A stunning presentation when opening the box and seeing the cutting boards. I took a video but must have lost it so hope someone else can post so you can see how the packaging screams luxury. ... show more

These cutting boards are like hand crafted furniture. They are thick, solid and absolutely beautiful. The 14x10 weight is 2 lb 10 oz. The 12x8 right at 2 lbs. they’re substantial but not blocky. Feel great. The grooved side is just right and the other side is smooth and corners are perfectly rounded. The hand grip cut-in on the ends are just as needed without being obtrusive. Can’t rave enough. Looking forward to getting the larger one tomorrow! ... show more

It’s a beautiful craft piece; the juice groove is very practical for keeping all the juices and all the chopped food (I haven’t spilled food in my kitchen since I started using it!) The grip is also fine and it’s stable. The reason I did not give it a 5 stars is that as soon I begin to cut, all the cuts are notoriously marked in the table. I haven’t experience that with other wood boards, The manufacturer instructions indicates using the oil each 3 weeks, but I’m not sure if oiling before using it could have prevented the early marks. So I suggest the manufacturer to review the maintenance instructions. Even this flaw, I expect to keep it for a long time in my kitchen! ... show more

minutes ago literally just received the Doheny duo cutting board set . As the well designed packaging states Your collection just got Upgraded . This is so amazingly beautiful . Craftsmanship . Skilled Artisan . Master Woodwork . And it was on Sale. near complete perfection not a single scratch . a minor scrape not enough to complain about . This board is too nice to cut directly on it , i am one of Those who squeams at blemishes and scratched surfaces on my flatware, glassware, stemware, cookware. --you get the idea . Still I will layer with wax paper or a silpat to protect from scratches . The price is more than fair . Honestly not to give Sonder any ideas Anywhere else they would price this set for Twice as much . Boos level for a lot less . And that other high end that is not Boos . Which is Three times as much in cost for any size . You know who it is. Dare I say Beyond On Par. Hefty Weight . Solid Construction . This board set is by no means hollow or lightweight . Amazing to the touch, feel and excellent holding it. Treat your board nicely . Take Care of It. Too good to be true to find this level of Quality via amz. Supporting A Local Business . Even Better . Cutting boards are well made, packaged very well, and are very nice looking out of the box. They scratch easily and the color fades unfortunately. This has been used maybe 20x. Hand washed and wiped dry, then set in a drying rack. Not sure if this is normal, or I got a dud. Says to oil every 3ish weeks but at this rate I’ll need to oil weekly. ... show more

These cutting boards are beautiful. They are very well made, look fantastic and so far have help up to daily use without a problem. We liked the combination of size and weight that make them the go to cutting boards in our house. We have a couple of other boards from BOOS and William Sonoma but are very thick and heavy, so they don’t get used much. These are just perfect. We liked them so much we bought a second set for our cabin. And did I mention they are gorgeous!?! ... show more
