Construction took a long time, and requires special tools because of stripped threads. If my husband didn’t happen to have the tool or know how to fix it it would have had to be sent back. However, the futon itself is great. We had a small space to put it in and weren’t sure how it would fit in the room, but it ended up looking great. The material is good quality and hardy. The futon itself has a weird design, with an overhang on the back (see pic), but it’s not too distracting and it’d look better against a wall. It’s stuff, but new couches always are. The futon has two levels of recline which was surprising. To note, the way to fold it down is to push it all the way forward, then back. Took us a minute to figure out there was no button to push :-) That said, most people would not have been able to build it the way we got it. Could have been a one-off, but it was surprising since it was a larger brand company I didn’t expect manufacturing issues. ... show more

Ok, so my review first off is a genuine review, I'm not a robot. This futon is small! I bought it for my son who is 5'7 and his feet hang off. Im 5'0 and I fit perfectly, just to give you an idea. It was modertly easy to put together if you're smarter than the futon, and it seems to be pretty darn sturdy! We have it on a hard wood floor and it doesn't move! I would think, and this is just a guess but if you're heavier than about 160lbs, this bed/couch isn't for you. I don't think it would hold for long. Not to mention, the actual butt of the couch seat is thin, and small....big booties need NOT apply. I can safely say that because my booty is as wide as a mack truck, and luckily I didn't buy this for me. What it would be perfect for: your 7 year old grandson, your nieces who come to stay overnight and you need a corner to thrown them in. Its like a miniature sized real futon if that helps. We bought this couch because we needed something that could be slept on comfortably. When it's flat, it's quite comfortable (at least to lay on, I can't vouch for a full night's sleep). When it is in couch form, it is so narrow that it's not as comfortable as we would want it to be. Having an ottoman to rest feet on would probably help with how shallow it is. It doesn't feel very sturdy, so I wonder how it would hold up. Granted, it's an inexpensive couch, so I guess you get what you pay for. Setup was pretty easy. It looks good. My main issue is that the box the couch was shipped on was damaged on arrival. When we opened the couch, there was this stain on the cushion. It's noticeable, and I'm not happy about it. I don't think the tear in the box compromised the integrity of the couch, but it's likely what created the stain (you'd think they wouldn't pack and ship a stained couch, right?). A stain isn't the end of the world, but I'm not happy about it. I'm trying to decide if returning the couch is worth the hassle. ... show more
