  • Extremely easy to assemble, VERY cozy with a strong brand name to back it up...
Color: Beige Size: 73" Sofa
The fact that this comes in a box will absolutely amaze you, particularly after you relax on this super cozy couch. You may not make friends with your UPS driver (as the box is very heavy, be aware you will need help) but the friend that helps you will be more very happy to sit on the couch with you. Our biggest concern when purchasing this was putting it together. My sister and I bought this for our Summer camp and wanted to something comfortable, affordable and that looked halfway decent. In an area that doesn't have a lot of online second hand options to choose from we went with this piece and we haven't looked back! As I mentioned, the box it came in was a big and a little intimidating and very large but after we opened it up it was truly and honestly a piece of cake to assemble...not even one bit of brother sister bickering. The video that is on this page explains perfectly what you will be dealing with and is not misleading at all. The directions are easy to comprehend and the whole process is truly user friendly. Obviously comfort is what you want in a couch and with this being a name brand we expected comfort...once again, it did not disappoint. We were amazed to find that we put this together ourselves and also could easily relax as soon as were done. At first it took some time for the cushions to fully come to size and offer full potential but as soon as they did you will be thrilled. Very cozy for 2 to 3 normal sized peopled and one could also lay down if they were the only ones on it. Honestly, we were shocked at how easy this was to assemble as well as how affordable a decent couch could be. When you consider that you don't have to deal with the hassle of getting this to your house the assembly time will be more than worth it. If you want a good looking, comfy affordable couch of good quality...look no further. ... show more

  • Amazing, Ingenious Sofa, Easy Assembly, Good quality!
Color: Brown Size: 78" Sofa
Serta has created another genius product - a sofa that can be shipped in pieces and assembled by a woman! This was dropped by my front door today and took me, by myself, about a half hour to assemble. If you watch the vid and follow the easy instructions in the pamphlet, you will have no trouble. The easiest way for me to open the box was slit the top and bottom, then pop open a stapled side of the box and take everything out. The pieces were all protected in plastic and jammed together *tightly*. You will need a box knife and a pair of scissors. Yes, it is held together by FIVE bolt screws...incredible design! Be sure to check the insides of the arms, back, and bottom for all the pieces. The manual has the number of pieces you will need. It's just easier to assemble with all the pieces out. The cons: The pillows are covered in a papery 'fabric' covering that my finger punctured easily....it was covered by the cushion cover. There was also a few nicks in the feet - thankfully, I could put them toward the back. Also, there was a missing 'washer' on one of the feet. No big deal. The most annoying thing was some weird sort of pellet product that got loose - perhaps a dessicant? I had to get out the vacuum and vacuum the insides of the sofa, for I could *hear* these pellets rattling around. Also, the velcro covers along the back were really hard to stretch and attach under the sofa...The velcro barely reached and I had put everything together correctly...but it is facing the wall, so doesn't really matter. This sofa was a bit lower than I anticipated, but for the price has surprisingly good quality and comfort. It does NOT flip into a bed. This is a regular sofa. It fits into my small apartment nicely and will serve for a couple of years. The feet help the sofa move easily on carpet, which is nice because it is close to my bookshelves. I chose the corderoy fabric and flat arms. For some reason the other fabrics and rolled arms were more money. I was looking at the 73" size, but this was actually cheaper. The extra length is nice for napping. Will post again in a year to share how it has worn over time. I am so tickled with the fact this sofa was drop-shipped to me and I could assemble it alone. Well done, Serta! ... show more

  • Should probably give it 2 stars, but I really do HATE it!
Color: Beige Size: 73" Sofa
Let me start by saying, "It is everything that it said it was... but..." As I wrote this review, I considered how many stars to give the couch. According to Amazon (as your cursor hovers over the one star) to give something ONE STAR means "I Hate It!" To say that anyone HATES something is such a powerful statement. So, why did I eventually choose to give it only one star? Because, I really do hate this couch. There are several reasons. 1st - I am about 5'10" and weigh in at about 220. When I sit down on this couch, I feel like it is trying to eject me. I get the feeling as if I am being pushed forward, out of the sofa, instead of sinking into or sitting comfortably on the couch. 2nd - The cushions slip. The seat cushion slips forward and the back cushion slips downward. This makes the sofa even more uncomfortable. It also causes the cushions to fall off of the sofa. For some reason, Serta decided to add black polyester (or at least that's what it looks and feels like) on the bottom of the seat cushions, the back support for the back cushions, the back cushions themselves and under the seat cushions. It is slippery and, I believe the main reason that the cushions slide so badly. Additionally, this takes away the option to 'flip' the cushions to use the other side. 3rd - Sit down slowly if your sofa is against a wall. There is very little back to this sofa. If I sit down quickly I bang my head on the wall behind the couch. The backrest (without the cushion) is a mere couple of inches. Add the cushion (which, as I said slips when you sit on it) and there is not enough to keep you from smashing your head against the wall if you 'kick back' on this couch. In fairness, I should hit on a couple of things which I do kind of like. Mainly the fabric. It is thick and appears to be a good quality fabric. The seams seem to be sewn well and I think that this should hold up over some time. Secondly, how crazy easy it was to put together. It came in a box way smaller than I had imagined would be. Just a few wing-type bolts and the legs and this thing was together. The most difficult part (if there was one) would be putting the foam seat cushions into the actual slip/cushion cover itself. It took a little 'fine tuning' to get it into it the right way, but nothing that anyone, can't handle. Lastly, it looks far better than it sits. If all I ever did was look at it, I would be really happy with it. But, that's not the way it works in my house. I sit on it... and, unfortunately, I do not like the way that it sits. In fact, I really do hate the way that it sits. I say it, or think it nearly every time I sit down on it. Overall. Had I bought this in a store, I wouldn't have. Considering that I would have been able to see it, feel it, touch it, sit in it, before buying it... I would have realized that it wasn't what I wanted. Buying it sight-unseen on the internet was my downfall. But, once out of the box (and believe me, I would never be able to get it back into that box) and set up, returning it just isn't worth it. Potentially... no, eventually (probably next year) this will hit the yard sale page for my community on Facebook, in my opinion, long before it should be, were it a better sofa. ... show more

  • Cute and Convenient, but Not So Comfy
Color: Beige Size: 78" Sofa
Based on appearance alone I would give this an easy five stars. However, I'm 5'2 and find it uncomfortable due to the shallow depth. The Good: - I live in a 3rd floor apartment with no elevator. I was able to take this upstairs alone (one piece at a time) and put it together. If you are able bodied there is no reason that you cannot do the same. - Assembly itself was MUCH easier than Ikea furniture, so if you've been around the block a few times with Ikea you'll have zero problem here. - The seats (bottom cushions) are super comfy. It's basically just a mattress under your butt. If that appeals to you, then you're good to go. - It looks great! I love the corduroy and the color looks just like the picture. When I first saw it after I finished assembly I was thrilled, until... The Bad: - People aren't kidding about the overstuffed back cushions. I couldn't even sit cross legged on the sofa. I'm not a skinny girl, but you feel like you are sitting on a little ledge with your back on a beach ball. I remedied this a bit by taking out almost 1/2 of the stuffing. The result is that my seat backs are a little less dense, but sitting on them is a little less miserable. Still, now I sort of have to lean on the top of the cushions to be comfortable. - To add insult to injury, the arms on the sofa are too low to lean on. Overall, with half the stuffing removed I don't get complaints from my friends when they visit, but it will definitely prevent you from hanging out on the sofa all day. ... show more

  • Really loving this loveseat!
Color: Beige Size: 61" Loveseat
UPDATE: 9/18/14 So when I first wrote my review it was a few days after I had put the couch together and was still feeling unsure about it because of some bad experiences with other couches on Amazon, but this couch is GREAT! My husband and I had a housewarming party and the couches were amazing! The cushions are so cushy and never slouch in - they always pop back up immediately and look full. The back cushions can get a little misshapen, but all you have to do is refluff them and they look good as new! I spilled some food (guacamole) on one of the couches and it cleaned up immediately without leaving a stain - I couldn't believe it! Summary: If you're having a hard time finding a quality couch online that will fit in your awkward space, buy this couch! However, if you prefer a big couch to sink in to this is still not for you. _________________________ Old Review: This is not the best couch I have ever owned, however, when living in a small apartment with awkward angles a couch in a box is the only way to go (believe me I've tried). It's a lot heavier than the website says it is so make sure you have two strong guys around to help you. Fedex/UPS will only deliver it to your door. Pros: - looks classic - very comfortable and squishy - holds 500 pounds total, 250 per seat (I bought a different one that was not built well and could not support heavy people, need less to say, it broke) - pretty easy to put together Cons: - Comes in a very heavy box with lots of packing - Although they are comfortable my husband and I are small people (I'm 5'4'' 130lbs and he is 5'10'' 150 lbs), so if you are taller or heavy set this may not be the couch for you. It has a shorter back and is not very deep if you're tall or large. - Pieces don't always fit together (making the assembly not so easy) - The back doesn't velcro all the way so unless you're putting this up against a wall you will need to buy velcro tape Summary: overall, an OK product and much better than most couch in a box products I've seen (I've already sent back a Bobkona brand because it broke), but this will not last and will probably need to be replaced within 5 years or less. ... show more

  • The cruel couch. All I could afford. Kids and students only.
Color: Grey Size: 61" Loveseat
The seat cushions are offensively firm and the back cushions are noticeably low quality. I got this as an upgrade for my little home office instead of rolling chairs to watch movies. It was very easy to assemble and looks fine. But the one thing I didn't count on is that the cushions are more firm than my office chairs. You can tell the back cushions are low quality because they have a back-shaped dent after a couple of hours and you have to bash them around every day to get them semi-comfortable again. Also the left armrest appears to have no padding at all, which I didn't notice until I sat on the left for no reason one day. But it's all I can afford so I'm stuck with it. I truly cannot believe that other reviews say that they are comfortable. Maybe okay for kids and students but I'm 39 and I feel like loser when I sit on this. So if you're a person that enjoys disassembling furniture and returning things then maybe it's worth the risk to you to see if you can handle these cushions. ... show more

  • Great Little Sofa / Loveseat!!
Color: Glacial Gray Size: 61" Loveseat
This is a great little sofa/ love seat! It’s nicer in person than the photos. It’s very comfortable! It’s a Serra and it shows. Nice fabric, thick cushions at a good price, I think. I really like it and so has the company who have sat on it. It comes in a large square box which can feel a bit daunting. It’s a well constructed, well designed piece furniture. It’s pretty easy for two people to put together but if you’re proficient in putting furniture together then you can do it with one person. ... show more

  • It's honestly not bad
Color: Light Gray Size: 78" Sofa
Firstly this is a $333 boxed couch so don't expect a $1000 raymor and flannegan couch to be in the box. It's not that type of couch. For the sale price it's offered at, it's a steal. Box fits through most doors, Amazon delivered it and brought it into the first floor of my building. I was able to take the box to the second floor alone but had trouble with the awkward bend from the second to third floor stairwell.(curse the narrow hallways of pre-20th century buildings) I ended up to just opening the box on the second floor and bringing the pieces up one by one before the neighbors complained about the box. Anyways, the couch was relatively easy to assemble, fairly straightforward and didn't even need the instructions. Although I'll admit it's better to construct the bottom half then the top half second, makes aligning the back rail 10x easier than alignment with the top down. The seats are fairly firm and have springs in them, like those spring mattresses. Took several hours for them to expand from their vacuum sealed state to their regular state. The back rests are about 18.5 inches with no cover and 17.5 with a cover. This Is the main complaint, this causes the backs to feel a bit over stuffed and feels like someone put a pillow between you and your chair. I feel like Serta could fix this in one of two ways, bigger back cushion covers to properly fit which would benefit by having more back support and a more seat room. Or remove stuffing which would have a similar effect minus the taller back. I just removed some stuffing from the back pillow and was fine. I ordered light gray but the color was more like a Beige color, no big issue I don't mind it much since imma put a cover on it. Another small issue is the height of the sofa, legs are kinda short, 4 inches. Feels a little akward standing up, I'm 5' 8". I'm planning to get 6 inch legs for it, it should help a good amount. Overall it's a good little sofa that was comfortable enough for me to take naps on and watch TV in my little apartment living room. I recommend this couch for those looking for small couches with okay back support and relatively decent sizing. ... show more
