  • Nice looking couch
Size: 61" Loveseat Color: Dark Brown
I bought this couch for my office and was pleased when it arrived, it was just the size I needed, and the assembly was fairly easy for me to do alone with no tools. The material is nice, soft and thick enough to be resilient. Good and meh points below. Good: Small size, decent ease of construction, resonable price, seems sturdy. Less good: Arm rests are very low (too low to use as a headrest), the seats are a bit shallow and the cushions are a little too firm for my liking. They were fairly difficult to wrestle in their casings. Couch feet are made of plastic, though it's not super obvious when assembled. Overall would recommend for an office couch, probably not what you're looking for if you want to lounge around watching TV. You'd need to be a very short adult ot a child to lie down comfortably. ... show more

  • A good couch but with a few downsides
Size: 78" Sofa Color: Brown
I really wish I could give this couch 5 stars, but after a few months of use, it has had some downsides. First, the positive aspects: It got here fast and was easy to put together. My husband and I had it up and in place in less than an hour. We read some previous reviews and had the covers ready for the cushions before they expanded all the way. I can see it causing you issues if you let the cushions "inflate" all the way before putting them in the covers. This couch is also relatively shallow, but that's what we wanted in or house and looked for while shopping. My husband is 5'7" and I'm 5'4", and we've actually had a really hard time finding a couch that fits our smaller frames. This couch, however, is perfect for us. We both also have lower back problems, and this couch has actually helped us a lot. There's not enough room to lean back in it too far, so it forces us both to have better posture. We've both experienced fewer back problems since purchasing this couch. If you are taller or want a couch you can really lounge on, this might not be the couch for you. It is relatively small, especially compared to the giant couches you find in furniture stores. Now the negatives: The back of the couch looks terrible. The Velcro doesn't go down all the way on the sides, so the fabric isn't secure all the way down. If this part of our couch showed, I would tack it down or put more Velcro on the back, but ours is against a wall. It is, however, a pretty cheap couch, so I had anticipated a few lower quality aspects. It also had a very strong smell when it arrived. We opened the windows, and this smell went away in less than 24 hours. It just smells like a cheap, new pair of shoes. I would not put it together in a room with no ventilation. It would have been an awful 24 hours if we did not have a window in the living room. After a few months of pretty heavy use, the bottom cushions are still really springy and the couch is not "dipping" anywhere in the seat area. However, the cushions you lean back against are a different story. They have gotten slouchier over the months, and we are constantly picking them up and trying to beat them back into shape. However, I do have to say that the couch we had before this was a $900 couch, and it had the same problem after a few months, so I'm not sure this is an easily avoidable problem with any couch. Last but not least, the biggest negative is that there seems to be a gap in the middle of one of our arm rests. The fabric is there, but there is no frame in one spot that is about 2x2 inches. This is only on one side, so I think this might just be a flaw in the couch we received. It does seem, however, that some other reviewers have had similar quality issues with this couch (screw holes in pieces not lining up during assembly, funky leg pieces, etc.) which leads me to believe that the construction of the couch itself is pretty cheap. This one issue isn't a huge deal, and the couch itself is still comfortable, but in the end I did give this couch 4 stars because this is a flaw (and one that my husband gripes about constantly). In the end, I think this is a pretty good couch for the price. No, it's not a perfect couch, and you should probably expect a small defect or two if you order it, but it is pretty comfortable and sturdy for the price. We have had lots of people over since we got it who are so surprised at how cheap it was and that it came in a box from Amazon, so I take that as an indicator that this is a pretty good deal. The fabric is nice and so is the shape. If you think it will work for your purposes, I think it is worth taking the plunge. ... show more

  • Should probably give it 2 stars, but I really do HATE it!
Size: 73" Sofa Color: Beige
Let me start by saying, "It is everything that it said it was... but..." As I wrote this review, I considered how many stars to give the couch. According to Amazon (as your cursor hovers over the one star) to give something ONE STAR means "I Hate It!" To say that anyone HATES something is such a powerful statement. So, why did I eventually choose to give it only one star? Because, I really do hate this couch. There are several reasons. 1st - I am about 5'10" and weigh in at about 220. When I sit down on this couch, I feel like it is trying to eject me. I get the feeling as if I am being pushed forward, out of the sofa, instead of sinking into or sitting comfortably on the couch. 2nd - The cushions slip. The seat cushion slips forward and the back cushion slips downward. This makes the sofa even more uncomfortable. It also causes the cushions to fall off of the sofa. For some reason, Serta decided to add black polyester (or at least that's what it looks and feels like) on the bottom of the seat cushions, the back support for the back cushions, the back cushions themselves and under the seat cushions. It is slippery and, I believe the main reason that the cushions slide so badly. Additionally, this takes away the option to 'flip' the cushions to use the other side. 3rd - Sit down slowly if your sofa is against a wall. There is very little back to this sofa. If I sit down quickly I bang my head on the wall behind the couch. The backrest (without the cushion) is a mere couple of inches. Add the cushion (which, as I said slips when you sit on it) and there is not enough to keep you from smashing your head against the wall if you 'kick back' on this couch. In fairness, I should hit on a couple of things which I do kind of like. Mainly the fabric. It is thick and appears to be a good quality fabric. The seams seem to be sewn well and I think that this should hold up over some time. Secondly, how crazy easy it was to put together. It came in a box way smaller than I had imagined would be. Just a few wing-type bolts and the legs and this thing was together. The most difficult part (if there was one) would be putting the foam seat cushions into the actual slip/cushion cover itself. It took a little 'fine tuning' to get it into it the right way, but nothing that anyone, can't handle. Lastly, it looks far better than it sits. If all I ever did was look at it, I would be really happy with it. But, that's not the way it works in my house. I sit on it... and, unfortunately, I do not like the way that it sits. In fact, I really do hate the way that it sits. I say it, or think it nearly every time I sit down on it. Overall. Had I bought this in a store, I wouldn't have. Considering that I would have been able to see it, feel it, touch it, sit in it, before buying it... I would have realized that it wasn't what I wanted. Buying it sight-unseen on the internet was my downfall. But, once out of the box (and believe me, I would never be able to get it back into that box) and set up, returning it just isn't worth it. Potentially... no, eventually (probably next year) this will hit the yard sale page for my community on Facebook, in my opinion, long before it should be, were it a better sofa. ... show more
