Customer service was great, but not the mattress. I let it lay flat for 5 days, but there was a giant lump/crease in it that would not flatten out and was hard. They gave me a refund and woukd have replaced it, but didn’t want to deal with the possibility of another faulty one

If temperature is a concern this could be your solution...it is for me. As a women around the 50 yr age mark and as someone who has always detested being hot when sleeping, I achieved greater temperature regulation and satisfaction immediately. The heat dissipation and pressure relief is markedly different than I have experienced with other brands. Lets be honest before continuing, Serta has brand name recognition. This is not to say this is the same Serta from decades past, but beds also didn't come in boxes, delivered to our doors decades ago. Keeping this in mind and comparing to other beds in boxes...having ordered several, this bed is AMAZING!!! Comfort will always be individualized or personal. Yes it may be pricier than off brands but it is extremely reasonable when compared to other brands that deliver comparable products. This mattress should be considered dreamy. Mattress' are very subjective. This seems to to the perfect blend of cushioning and support. It provides the luxury feel of pillow with structure of coils. If you prefer a bouncier feel to your mattress, then you’ll probably like the coil system this bed has. I can't speak to longevity fingers crossed the feeling last because with back problems finding a bed that works has been a journey. I feel I am able to ACTUALLY enjoy sleeping and wake rested. To be honest stayed in bed over weekend way too late lol Again, time will tell on the durability but I have had enough experience with beds in boxes that I also set appropriate expectations. I would be pleased if I got 2 plus to 3 yrs out of this bed with consistent use. Several of the others, I have purchased were rotated out within a year to 18 months... 2- 2.5 yrs in certain vacation homes. Went put in perspective... I find it entertaining that people will spend several hundred dollars on sneakers but will skimp on spending on their bed. For me this bed is a bargain and am GRATEFUL to discover. Pros: Super convenient, shipped direct to home Surprisingly comfortable Reasonably priced Cons: Wouldn’t call it truly firm, closer to a medium level Needs two people to easily move Took 2-3 days to fully expand and lay normally Smelled when initially removed from packaging This is my second bed-in-a-box and I knew what to expect from this experience this time. I have a few important things to note for those that have not gone through this before. It takes days to expand, do not assume you will be able to use it the first night. It has a mild manufacturing smell when you unpackage it, this fades relatively quickly, but much faster if you can place it in a room with an open window. These mattresses require a good base, this means that if you get a slatted bed frame that doesn’t require a box spring, you should ensure the slats are no more than 2.5-3 inches apart. Despite the fact that the box is pretty compact, these are heavy. I needed assistance to get it inside my home and especially to get it upstairs and unpackaged. If you live alone or have any type of weight or motion limitations, be aware of this and plan to ask someone for assistance when it arrives. The box arrived at my home in decent condition considering how rough large boxes are usually treated during shipping. I was able to unpack the mattress in a spare room and leave it over the weekend to both air out and fully expand before fully encasing it in a waterproof mattress protector. From there, it was ready to go. I ordered the 12 inch, firm, queen size and plan to use it as my main mattress. Having had a mattress of this type before, I know that they don’t last as long as other types. My previous mattress was good for around 2 years before it started to form permanent dips, despite regularly rotating it. I’m hoping for a similar timeline or better from this mattress. One thing I will note about this particular mattress is that their idea of “firm” is closer to my idea of a medium mattress. However, this is a personal opinion and I will vary by person. I had a foam mattress that was not a hybrid one in our guest room, which is my grandma's room right now. She didn't like it as it was too soft and didn't offer adequate support. So I was looking for a hybrid mattress that was not too tall, because they are usually 10 inches or more, which is way too high for her. This one was the perfect option as it was an 8-inch mattress. When it arrived, I unboxed and unwrapped it as I usually do with box mattresses. I let it fully expand for 3 days as I usually do with these types of mattresses. The mattress looks great, and it feels great. Its medium firmness gives it the perfect support without being too firm. Even though it is a thinner mattress in comparison with other box mattresses I own, it is still a comfortable and good-quality mattress.
