The mattress is very nice and beautiful product. Because it's made of gel foam, my husband's side of the bed sinks down because he is a 250 lb man. When he gets in bed, his side sinks down, and conform to his weight. However, my side doesn't sink when I get into bed, but when I turn over, I roll into his sink hole, if you will, In order to compensate for the two different balances, we have to place a king size pillow to prevent me from sinking into the hole. Therefore, after much contemplation, and two weeks of tossing and turning, we decided to return the mattress for a much firmer one. Also, the mattress did not fit our bed as a California King because the width was too short, thereby showing the distortedness of the mattress size. You could actually see the box springs or cover with a bed skirt which my bed is not designed for that.. While I rated this a 4 star, it was because it was still a great buy, but wasn't designed for our personal satisfaction and our needs. ... show more

So it took FOREVER To be delivered and I hate to complain but it's not firm at all. You literally sink into it. But it's a beautiful mattress very comfortable just wish it was a lot more firm I have sciatica and need that extra firmness.     • great sleep but some issues
Style: Elite Plush 15" Size: Queen
Some excellent sleep after 4 weeks on this 15" pillowtop. But the queen size is 2", even 2.5-inches, less wide than the advertised, standard, queen size. I've never seen so obvious defective width before, in the 2 dozen mattresses I've owned in my life. Besides shrinking a size that's borderline big enough for two full-sized aduilts, it leaves an unsightly gap at the edge of the fitted frame. And then there's the foam smell- it had a STRONG, pervasive, wafting scent when I lifted the covers for the first 2 weeks, even just walking into the room. Though I left it uncovered and with a window fan venting the room for its first day. Even now (4.5 weeks later in warm weather), the sheets smell distinctly of foam, there's a mild waft of synthetic smell when I lift the the covers. Not what I expected in 2023. Note I don't even have a sensitive nose, but I DO have sensitive skin... and the heavy dosing of VOCs seemed to give me hives (not normal for me) sporadically in the first couple of weeks. Serta should be insisting on low-VOC foam, or figuring out how to air the product before packaging. The extra-strong smell and the wrong size implies they're packaging up the mattress at the factory without even enough of a pause to inspect the product. The last issue is more generic: in just a month, the side of the bed I sleep on (200lbs) already has the pillowtop squashed, but the other side is not. Possibly it'll squash evenly, but depending on how you sleep and if your sleep partner is a different size than you, you likely will end up with a "trench" where you sleep. It's still a pretty firm mattress under the pillowtop (it's not super cushy), so I think I would skip the pillowtop. Reducing that type of foam might help the smell also. I would have given 3.5 stars because the sleep is GOOD. But at this price range, even if everything is outsourced by brands that have shrunken down to mere marketing organizations, Serta should still be making sure of quality control at the factory, and dealing with issues like foam off-gassing of VOCs, so I rounded down. I'm going to try the 14-inch (non-pillowtop) and hope its accurately sized. If you're buying, make sure to check the width, which might be apparent at a glance. And have a plan to let the foam air out- don't sleep on it the first day, or even first week. ... show more

So not sure about everyone else but my bed is exact size it states and firm but cushy at same time. Best part is it didn't come in box that you have to let mattress sit for 4hrs. It's ready to sleep on as soon as you get it home. The plastic wrap on outside did have a little dirt but mattress itself is spotless. Glad I got it and for price before it went up. ... show more

Purchased 2 in Aug/2024 but within just a few months it became far too soft to even sleep on!!! Just past the return date so no way to return or get a refund. VERY disappointed in this purchase, waste of money!
