  • Excellent and Compact. It's a cute lil’ thing!
Excellent! Nice and compact. It has an easy to follow thread illustration diagram, which was VERY helpful to me when threading the machine. For reference, I took photos and video of how the machine was threaded, out-of-box, just to be certain that I didn't get 'tangled up' when replacing the threads. :-) The machine isn't too loud and functions as expected. The quality feels solid and durable. What I like are the suction cup 'feet' at the bottom. They keep the machine from moonwalking all over the place. A manual with English instructions is included, extra needles too! (Be sure to buy your own thread for the machine, none is included). I pray that this little overlock sewing machine lasts me a long, long time. Go buy it, it's a handy, cute lil' thing! :-) Shout-out to the seller for quick responses and offering the product at a nice, affordable price. :-) Thank you! ... show more

  • Good and sturdy little machine
I must say this machine is big surprise, it's body is a metal casting so it's heavy which makes it nice and sturdy. It's easy to use and if you want a durable, simple overlocker look no further. The shipping cost is steep and because it's not covered by Amazon Prime will add to the overall price of the machine, keep that in mind if you're comparing it with other models available. Unless the shipping option changes, add $25 to the price to compare it with machines covered under Prime delivery. ... show more

  • Jaygovan Serger Thoughts
What should I mention first about this serger? You really do get what you pay for. The Jaygovan overlock serger is capable of decent "serging" tasks if you spend time with it. But this serger is no "walk-in-the-park" when it comes to threading the loopers and needles. When threaded right this serger will sew decently without breaking thread every 10 seconds. But that's the kicker this serger needs to be tweaked a bit to really run right. The foot control that came with the serger is basically an on/off switch. The carbon disks inside the controller that are supposed to act like a variable speed control doesn't work because some of the carbon disks were broken inside and couldn't pass enough voltage to start the motor before the solid contact kicked in so, in essence the serger motor was full on (with a jerk) or full off! I found an electronic variable speed controller that works well with this serger (Singer model GTE electronic controller) that gives this serger variable control and soft starts. The sheet metal is thin, and the guides have to be bent back into place so as to not to cut thread as it passes through the guides. Once that is done then you still have to thread it. Threading this machine takes time to get right if you really pay attention to the threading diagram inside the machine. If you don't do it right, you'll know the instant when you fire it up because the thread comes out of the back like pulling it off the spool (No thread entanglement) but, if you get it right the thread will come out "serged"! Then you are ready to Rock-and-Roll! Overall, this machine is a good serger if you spend some "time" with it. This is one of the toughest sergers to thread! Also, there isn't a whole lot of adjustment on the thread/loop spacing at all. I wouldn't recommend this serger to a beginner! ... show more

  • Great quality
Small but sturdy, works great. Would definitely recommend it.

  • Decent
It is small, about half the size of any overlock I've ever met, but I expected and wanted that. It's also FAST. Faster than the machines I sew on at work. I'll probably remove the bulb because it's hot and I prefer to sew in dim light anyway. Got it almost 10 days earlier than the earliest arrival date. The day after I started to worry about it's strange shipping information. But it all worked out. Was happy it came with a place for my thread cones. Also came with extra needles. I certainly feel the price I paid for it in its build but I still like it. I like that it's metal and not plastic especially. It feels like a "treat it right and it'll treat you right" kind of machine. ... show more

  • Heavy, powerful, and good value for beginners.
So far it’s a mighty, although cramped, power house. I have yet to have much of an issue. It was fairly easy to get started with it, having never used one before. Good value for the money.
