My first impressions are, WOW...Just the fact that they put the rod in such a nice, thick protective sleeve is just so far above what others have sent me...at first, I didn't want to spend the money but, I'm very happy I did because the rod is so light and it's pleasing to the eye....the grip is unexpectedly comfortable for my larger hands....haven't put my reel on it yet but, so far so good.... Update: ok so it's a nice match for my vintage Abu Garcia black max 1600 but, 2 things they could change for the better; 1)a little larger finger stub, 2) a "hook latch"....so, that knocks a star off for me UPDATE... IT'S FANTANTIC!!!! I switched reels and put my Abu Garcia 2500C on it and it got 10x better....now that's the perfect match!! It's a good rod.... I'll be ordering another one soon

As usual with Handing rods, this is another beautiful looking rod that seems to be very well made. Unfortunately, though, they're calling it a BFS rod, claiming it's light power and fast action. I don't feel it's either. It feels more like a medium power (not even medium-light). The rod just doesn't flex enough to be able to easily cast ultra light weight lures. If anything, it's actually worse (meaning not light or ultralight) than their Magic L rods (which I also didn't care for). All that being said, Handing is an excellent rod manufacturer with truly excellent and responsive customer support. Handing has reached out to me on several occasions to ask for feedback on their products and they have offered very helpful suggestions of their other products that would better suit my needs. If you want a truly superior BFS rod, I would recommend going with Handing's Wandering Ultralight rod, which is truly ultralight power and fast action, while still being a truly beautiful looking rod like all their others.

Rod balance is terrible. Can't really comment on anything else. I'm guessing they just wanted to capture the monocoque handle fad, but they didn't consider the proper length/handle mass when integrating this handle with the blank. If comfort and balance are of great value to you, look elsewhere. I used credit card rewards points, plus a Black Friday sale to get this rod for free, so I'll keep it and see if the blank durability and guides hold up. Lightweight, but imbalance negates lightweight. Taper and tip action? Don't know yet. Sensitivity....could care less about sensitivity in any of today's graphite rods......not worried about getting slack-lined by a smallmouth 20-60 FOW with current variables, calling for a setup that will optimize bite detection. Just a recreational angler. Will see. If it doesn't break, doesn't illicit orthopedic issues, and has ideal tip action for my style and certain techniques: could be a value, but I'm looking for this $140 retail rod to be comparable to your common mid-range rod lines from $180-$280.

This rod was super sensitive and I thought would be a solid choice for micro lures, but the first fish I hooked into snapped the rod into three pieces. There are other bfs rods out there that work 1000X better for the same price. Avoid if possible.

I ordered the 7'1" MH casting model and received it in a few days. I only used the carbon fiber blanks in the recent months and I like them much better than graphite or graphite/glass composite blanks. By now I have a total of 15 new rods with carbon fiber blanks and I'll continue to buy more. These blanks are thinner, lighter, sensitive, and strong. The Serenity model must be a new and high end model. It uses the best components and is meticulously finished. As for action, it all depends on what you use it for. Serenity is more like a medium fast rod to me as compared to for example Powell's Endurance and Naked. Overall, I highly rate this rod. I like the action of this rod. The only problem I have is Arizona weather is already reaching 110°, too hot for fishing!

Compared to my other rods it does seem like a medium heavy, fast tip. Build quality seems really good, all the eyelets look great, finish is good. Mine was 3.5 ounces, soo super lite. Rod seems strong. I was hoping for a bit more sinsativity, it's just okay for it's price piont when I got it for just under 80$. I don't think I would pay over 100$ for it. There are a lot of other rods that are lite and are more sinsative for that price. For the price I got it for I will keep it.

It's a good rod but the shipping was bad someone broke the rod and I guess when I opened someone tried to fix it if your looking for a rod is might be the one but it's a 50/50 it comes in good condition.
