My first impression when I unboxed this furniture lifter was: is this a toy? It's way smaller than it appears to be in the pictures but... it gets the job done! I was shocked how easily I was able to lift heavy furniture with the help of my new little friend ;-) I got this furniture lifter for the purpose of lifting heavy pieces of furniture and place pads underneath the legs to protect my brand-new hardwood floors. Having said that, I have not used it yet for the purpose of moving furniture by placing the 4 wheeled pads underneath the furniture legs so I cannot judge how well those work. So far, it met my needs. It does not get the full 5 stars because I think it's a like overpriced. ... show more

Wow - I am very impressed that this really works. My family calls me the weakling and I was able to use this to lift a huge tv armoire filled with stuff and slide furniture slides underneath the legs and then was able to easily move it across the room. However - I didn't use the slides that came with the lever which are rather tall (about an inch in height) instead I used the plastic foam flat furniture slide. I am glad that I did b.c. while this worked for me to lift it half an inch - just enough to slide the flat furniture slide underneath I don't think it would have worked to lift it the full inch off the ground needed to place the wheeled slides underneath. Another thing to note you have to push the lever all the way down to the ground and its helpful to make the stack under the lever a little taller than the height of the space of the funiture to the floor. the plastic pieces the lever clicks into on the top of the height brackets is twisted after one use so that could be a little stronger but as of now it still is holding and works. ... show more

The wheels crushed on some of them. I got two sets, so out of the 8 "wheels" three of them had some of the wheels on the bottom crush/break. But I used them to move a large fridge/freezer and large gun safe. You need two sets though. To get over thresholds, transitions from tile to wood,etc., we used the lifting device, pushed it over the threshold, then put two more wheels under the corners, then did the same with the back. On the front when you push it over the threshold two of the wheels are now under the safe, etc , so with the extra two you use those, then when you get the back over you'll be able to get all the wheels to put under the item. On very smooth surfaces they work great, over driveways, not so much, you need to transfer it to larger wheelsfor rough surfaces. ... show more

I bought these sliders specifically to move an 800lbs safe on a concrete slab. When I opened the box I didn't think the little lever or the plastic rollers would hold up, but to my surprise they worked exactly as advertised. All that said, the only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because the lever did have trouble getting purchase ie sliding in between the safe and ground to be able to get enough lift. I basically had to unbalance the safe to make enough of a gap to get in there ... show more

After 15 years, my desk had worked its way forward about 3” - kind of surprising given that it weighs nearly a thousand pounds. I recently bought a glass chair mat and had to bring the desk back to its original position, plus a few inches, to keep from rolling off the edges of the mat. I dreaded having to clean it off, maybe take out the drawers that were stuffed with heavy files, and enlist some guys from our operations group to help me move it back. I would have to be careful myself, since I’m 65 with a ruptured disk that’s just starting to feel normal again, but I knew I would end up right in there with them moving and positioning to get it right. It hit me last weekend that there has to be something out there to carefully wedge and lift the desk enough to get carpet sliders under the 8 balancing “disks” of the pedestals that it rests on, without damaging the wood base of the desk. Surprisingly, there were a number of products out there, and after carefully weighing the reviews and Q&As, I settled on this one. Today, I went in the office just to test it out, see if it could actually wedge between the desk and the carpet, and was powerful enough to lift up a corner. Well, it did and it was, and then I figured why not try to slip one of the carpet sliders under? That was easy enough, so tried all 8 of them - if that worked, I would get the guys to help me move it tomorrow since it was after hours. With all the carpet sliders in place, decided to see how hard it would be to move it - from the center of the desk I couldn’t budge it without putting a lot more muscle into it than I thought made sense. But, pushing back from the corners was pretty easy, so I bumped it back from side to side and a few minutes later it was 6” back and just where I needed it. By the way, didn’t take a thing off my desk or empty any drawers. I didn’t try the other products on the market, but the leverage and strength this tool provides is all anyone should ever need. Not once did it feel like it couldn’t take the force or the weight - it is extremely well made. And the beveled edge made it easy to slip between the desk and the carpet, even though the weight of the desk forced the disks it rests on well into the carpeting leaving little separation. It’s so refreshing these days to buy a gadget like this, and actually have it work as advertised under very tough conditions that test it to the max. Never thought I would get the desk moved without any help and in less than a half hour. For me, it far exceeded expectations! ... show more
