I found this air conditioner to be packaged extremely well and it totally protected against damage. The instructions made it pretty easy to get everything set-up correctly. I only wish that this came with some foam strips to put between the window and the ac frame. The ac blows cold almost immediately after turning it on. My room cooled down very quickly and the ac unit was able to monitor the temp. This is a great unit and does not take up much floor space at all.

I bought this AC/Unit / Heater in February 2022 for my man cave area of the home. At first everything worked great. Heat was warm and A/C was ice cold with absolutely zero issues. To be honest this is a very simple device that is easy to setup and use. Instructions are simple. I was to preface this also stating this unit was NOT heavily used. The noise level is moderate (it is not quiet) but can be tolerated by turning up the TV or surround sound. I did not expect it to be super quiet so this is not an issue. What was an issue is that at the end of July 2022, It stopped working. AC was luke warm at best in the middle of the a Southern US summer. At first I was just going to toss it out and be out 400+ bucks or whatever I paid at that time. Instead I told me wife let’s see about this warranty which I turned over to her to deal with. At the end of July my wife called the company to request warranty assistance via a number found for them on google. She was able to get ahold of somebody who stated that a claim was submitted and we would receive an email within 24-48hrs. We did receive a complaint ticket # or reference number for this call. After 3 days we received no response or email and yes we checked junk mail. My wife called them again and asked what the status was and again was told she would receive an email within 24-48hrs. After 48hrs we again had no response so my wife called them again and was told again we would have an email within 24-48hrs. She used the complaint reference number each time she called. After the 3rd callback she received an email within 24hrs asking if we did all the simple things the directions said to ensure it was broken. Things such as unplug it, clean filters, drain it etc., basically easy stuff I checked 17 times before giving up. My wife emailed back and forth with the representative whom did state that it was covered and they would be sending us a new unit. We had to send them a copy of our Amazon receipt which is totally understandable. Once the new unit shipped we had it within a week. Since that time for the small amount I have used it… it is functioning perfectly. I did plug the old unit back in just to see if the heat function at least worked on it since the AC didn’t but that also did not work. So to wrap up. When the unit is working it does work as expected, it looks nice and is easy to use. The jury is still out for me on the overall quality as I’m on my second unit. The warranty is there but will require some work to get it. I still have the old unit which I will now have to take to a dump or recycle center. I realize things break unexpectedly sometimes and I am glad I didn’t have to shell out another large sum of money on a different brand. We also have a second serine life smaller A/C only unit that has worked for one summer thus far. I am going to have to see how this unit works over the winter of 2022 / Summer of 2023 to fully know if I would buy from them again. I hope this helps somebody on the fence in some way.

UPDATE: 11/2025 GIVING IT ONE MORE CHANCE: Attempt to use HEAT mode during our first winter cold snap. NOPE, all it does is blow cold air, not one bit of warmth coming form this machine. We have cleaned all filters and done reset. Additional this particular machine has never given me an ERROR message code as I see other reviews talk about. I guess this one is just a complete dud. Will contact customer service but am out of warranty now by two months. They will want the item returned at customer expense not considering the customers have already dealt with extreme frustration due to this ineffective product. My review went down to one star as I originally gave it two stars, because I hoped it would redeem itself for the winter months. Such a let down. Very disappointed with this brand. The window adapter for the vent hose if very flimsy, first you will have to cut part of the slider off (if your window is not exactly the right size) to make adjustments. The vent hose (it's honestly too long and too heavy depending on your window) keeps popping loose from adapter, has hooks where it is to snap in place on the adapter but that does NOT hold it. Eventually I had to completely remove adapter and shut window down on the part that blows all the hot air out and cover up the rest of the open window with towels and weather stripping in attempts to keep hot air from coming back in. Secondly, the hose gets extremely hot, to the point where you can feel hot air blowing from the hose near where the hose attached to the machine. I wrapped weather stripping there first, then I bought the aluminum foil HVAC tape to stop the leaking in of hot air, once that leak was improved you can tell it is putting cold air in your space. Hence I did give it two stars, but all the work and effort I have put into it, probably should only be one star. It was also very difficult to keep the vent hose attached to the back of the unit. It is a twist lock in place design, which is flawed. Needs to be sturdier, It came loose one day, fell and knocked the drain tube out from tote bin that I have the condensation draining in. There was water all over my she shed floor. I see the pictures from other customers and no one ever mentions how much water comes from the drain hose. I assume they have their hose running through the wall or something. I did see one with it dripping in trash can. That would not contain all my water. My drainage tube drips into a huge tote bin. Of which, every morning and evening I have to dip it out. I use a 2 quart bucket, making at least 4 trips to empty it out on my yard. It is just not mentioned how much condensation to be expected. I guess if I was able to cut a hole in my wall and get a longer tube this could be resolved but I am not in a situation this could be done. The temperature here is in the 90's. I purchased this product last August 2024, during that summer I just finally let my building stay hot as I wasn't dealing with fixing the building up as I am this summer. Thought I would give it another chance this year, and all I have dealt with is problems. The heating side of the Serene Life AC and Heat product was a total bust. All it did was blow cold air back in. No help in getting any warmth, went back to using the radiant oil type heaters. This product functions like a heat pump and it was very cold. There is no putting it on heat strips as you can do with you home heat pump unit. Prepare for these glitches if you buy. Maybe the designs have been changed since I got mine, but it is risky and not worth the time. The sq footage that it is to cool and heat is acceptable but it has not been worth my money. Maybe if you are cooling a small room, and have a plan for your drainage it would be okay. Controls work fine on machine and the remote. I am preparing to put in mini-split level now to replace this thing.

EXCELLENT value, quality, and performance. It arrived on time and within an hour, it was up an running. I live in Florida and my central air conked out. I did a lot of research locally and online, and I am a pleased with this purchase as can be. I have 1,200 sq. ft. house with 8 foot ceilings and I was suffering with inside temps at 94 during the day and 90 throughout the night, at 86% humidity. I couldn't afford a larger unit, plus I was afraid it would be too large for me to handle and set up. I deduced that if I closed off the two bedrooms, I could at least cool the core of the home and take some of the brutal humidity out. It has been two days and this unit has save my life! It runs efficiently and quietly, (soft, white noise like a smoothly running fan), and continues to fill my 12 liter bucket with water from the air - just emptied the 6th bucket. The temp in my home has steady decreased to 78 degrees, (down from 94!), and still going. Also, my fridge was working overtime and I was very worried when the ice-maker stopped functioning and the exterior of the fridge was hot down below. It's back to normal now. I have used some fans to help distribute the air. I was concerned about maintenance and having to babysit the unit, but it's not an issue so far. I've had a ton of humidity, which continues to drop, (from 86 down to 79 now), and I can leave my empty bucket, which takes about 7 hours to fill, more or less, and I expect it to slow down as the unit continues to draw what was excessive heat and humidity for a month. The design is sleek and easy to maneuver, the unit came with all parts needed to assemble. I had to measure and cut the extension plate because my windows are small. I'm pretty handy and I used a small saw to cut the hard plastic and used heavy duty, 2 inch tape to attach the extension piece. I used painters tape to assist in making the plate in the window more air tight. One more thing: I wondered if I should pay a little extra for the heating feature and I'm glad I did. The parts finally came in for my central air, but even after it is repaired, I will keep this unit as a backup for AC or heat in the future. Absolutely 5-star review!
