We got this unit when our main central air unit went out at our house, we used it in a bedroom not the whole house. This unit is compact but cools like you are in Alaska.. very cold air!! The only dislike is the display is very light (white lettering on a tan background) which is hard to read but other than that it cools amazing!! Very easy to use and install. ... show more

I have this in my bedroom. It does a good job of keeping it cool. I wish it had an Econo mode. I probably would have gotten a different one had I noticed that.

    • Good deal for a basic unit
I bought this when it was on sale for $135 including taxes. Installed it in a bedroom in the SW corner of the house on the second floor that has a lot of radiated heat coming into it. Even though it is part of the central air system, when the temp outside gets over 90 -- not to mention over 100 -- this room can heat up. So we added this window unit to augment the central air. So far it works great. Very much a standard, simple unit. We installed it, which is no big trick, turned it on, and that room began to cool down. The controls are simple and mechanical. Cools nicely, I use this in our Dog's house. It cools the room down good. Typically we only get a year out of other ac units. Hopefully this one last longer. We are using this in a 10 x 12 room.

Great for a small bedroom. Keeps me cool at night in this Texas heat. It is loud, it is very plain, just 2 knobs to adjust. Too expensive for the model. It would be great to have a digital reading to set the temp. Low doesn’t cool enough medium too cold. But works good.

***update*** the ac still doesnt get cold. We spent over $100 for basically a fan. Tried to contact the seller but never heard back. I would def think twice before irsering from here. We live in a split level house and have 2 central ac units. On the one that goes to my bedroom and our living room the compressor doesn't kick on. So I've ordered parts but until we get it fixed I needed some cold air. I live in Texas and thankfully this spring and summer have been extremely mild so far. A window unit should be more than enough to keep my bedroom cool, even cold. Its pretty heavy but inwas able to carry it inside by myself. It comes with all the things you need to install. The things that go on either side of the ac and the piece you attach to the top of the ac to prevent it from sliding out of the window. I was able to easily install it on my own with just a screwdriver. I let it set for several hours in case the stuff inside that makes the air cold needed to settle. The cord is nice and long. I turned it on and let the air blow. After 2 hours of being on it has only blown mildly cool air.. I have turned it off and am letting it rest and will try again but right now I'm highly disappointed. ... show more
