Received units in good condition. Installation was fairly easy. Not sure yet about operation yet. Fans and compressor variable speeds with loads but indoor fan although it speeds up and slows down never really cycles off. Maybe because it has been so hot. A couple of things to take note. The charge ports are off size and require 5/16 to 1/4 adapters for connecting manifold gauges. The drain pipe on the bottom of condensing unit would not snap in the hole. I left off and may be sorry I didn't impervise later. That 16ft line set isn't nearly long enough for almost any installation so plan on buying local. It cost me another 350 bucks for another line set. Incidentally if you planned to add an extension to the line set 3/4 flare connectors aren't readily available at supply stores or box stores. I went around the world looking for some but come up empty so I ordered from Amazon but the supplier never shipped after 5 days so I cancelled and bought a 50 ft line set. Oh and be patient after you power up the first time. I think it must have to go into a boot up process. So just wait before you panic something is wrong. Overall good quality machine. Very quiet and cooling well in this 100 degree weather. I didn't purchase the aux heat because I am in the south and the unit was installed upstairs where the old unit heat was never used. For an 18 seer variable speed system, this price is unbeatable. I chose to run a new line set which increased my cost because the system does not use a filter dryer. It's cooling very well and controlling humidity well so far. Controller is a little difficult to use, the scheduling features are not good. The system also runs the fan a good portion of the time even when the cooling is not operating. Both of these are typical control strategies for mini split units and the scheduling issue could be overcome by using a standard thermostat instead of the two wire DC communication system that is provided. Also note, this particular package does not come with backup or auxiliary Heat. Only heat pump heating and air conditioning. Fairly simple install for diy guy. Customer service was there to answer questions. Runs super quiet and is cooling well. Local outfit quoted me 11k for a replacement unit so I feel pretty good about the savings.

I have only had it installed for a few days so far and love it. Since it is an inverter heat pump it never turns off, just slows down. You pick a temperature and it just sticks at that temperature. I was suprised about the size of the outdoor unit. It is massive. For me, it is not an issue but could be a concern if you cannot place it out of sight. ... show more
