    • SentrySafe is horrible

Key broke off in lock immediately with little to no pressure or weird angles of insertion or turning. After just a short a mount of time after contacting SentrySafe, I got a reply. I replied and then it took over 2 weeks and I didn't hear anything. So I called them and they gave me a way to try and get the key out. I already tried next to everything, but I tried their idea, it didn't work. I e-mailed them back. Nothing for over 2 weeks. Then finally they responded saying they'll send me a new safe after I e-mailed them again reminding them. This has been one of the worst experiences on Amazon and with a purchase. If you want a good little lock box to permantly mount in a cabinet or in a closet this is it! If you want something to keep dishonest people out you will need to spend close to a 1000.00. I have read the reviews and people are expecting Fort Knox security for under a 100.00! I got this to keep my moms pain medicine in and a firearm incase some one try's to make me open it. If you permantly mount it it does what it was meant to do. People need to be realistic lol. ... show more

There is no security with this safe. I ordered an extra large which isn’t really that large but there are 2 big holes in the back of the safe for mounting- I did not want or need that. It is NOT durable and I do not recommend for anyone that is using it for important docs or money. This is good for holding left over food if you’re that scared someone will eat it because it will probably secure your food overnight only.     • Crowbar safe repair.

Absolute POS. I purchased this to store handguns. The thing about guns is that you want to be able to get to them when you need them. So I was shocked when out of nowhere my passcode would display a green light and the safe wouldn't unlock. Try again, same green light and it still won't unlock. Green still means go correct. So let's try the key. That doesn't work either. Maybe the crowbar will work. 2 minutes later the I have access to my valuables and a mangled tin can that once loosely resembled a safe. No wonder it broke this think was flimsy as hell. So here I am writing two reviews 1 star for this safe and 5 stars for the crowbar. ... show more

I carefully measured the things I want to keep in this safe, and compared them to the internal size measurements provided by Sentry Safe for this small (0.4) cubic foot safe to ensure a good fit. But I cannot fit my boxes in the safe. The interior of the safe may or may not be as represented by Sentry Safe, but it does not matter. The door does not open all the way, plus there is a frame around the front. The opening into the safe is about four inches smaller than the interior measurement. The biggest box you can fit through the door is about 7.25 x 5.25 inches, not 11.3 x 7.5 inches. (See my photo) That is a huge difference. ... show more

We needed something to lock up pharmaceuticals at home, and picked this one more or less at random. It's serviceable, but has three shortcomings we've identified so far: It's smaller on the inside than it looks. In particular, there's a goodly chunk of space directly behind the door when it's closed that cannot be used because it collides with the battery pack. Speaking of battery pack, the fact that it's on the inside means that if the batteries die you can only gain entry with the emergency key. Other electronic safes allow the batteries to be changed without opening the safe (and, no, that doesn't make the safe less secure). The last shortcoming is that sometimes if you enter the combination too slowly it will just start ignoring button presses. It's almost as if the batteries die in mid-stride or something. This is not the same thing as the lock-out period after getting the combination wrong too many times in a row. ... show more
