I bought this portable safe as a gift for someone who has everything. At first he wasn't sure what he was going to use it for, but it turns out it's that thing you don't know you need until you need it. It's on the smaller side, so it's not for anything large. It's just enough room for a cell phone, credit cards, money, etc. But because it's portable, it's ideal for a lot of different uses. He said he took it with him to watch a little league game, and attached it to the bleachers with his cell phone and his keys. Long story short, he got up from the bleachers to do something and two hours later, remembered it. There is was, all safe and sound still attached to the bleachers. I am traveling and needed something to keep my money and passport safe. In my pictures there are $6,000 cash and my passport secured inside the box. I might be able to fit a few more small things like my credit cards but at least the cash is secure. It packs a punch for a small safe.

I like the box. It is just plastic, so not high security. But it is great to provide light duty security. Big enough to fit my phone, passport, and some cash. But, I packed this in my suitcase and took a flight. When I arrived and opened my suitcase, TSA melted a whole to get inside it! It is terrible. The plastic box is wrecked. So do not fly with this! I ordered this on sale and it arrived fairly quickly. It is exactly as described, decently compact although overall a little bit bigger than I expected (that's on me, not the product itself). It is very straight forward and easy to use... Scroll to align the appropriate code before pressing one of the buttons to either open the compartment or release the cable. To set your own code there is a small switch above the dials inside you compress to set your own code then release. This button is a little tricky to hold but once you set your combination you should be good. The dials themselves are a little difficult to spin, but I personally correlate that to it being brand new. Overall very happy with this little lockbox for what I need it for! ... show more

    • Nothing but cheap garbage...
I don't even know where to start. Oh yeah, let's start with the packaging, shall we? I could use the box it came in as a better safe than the actual safe. They package it so that you have to tear the box apart just to open it. So, let's just say you want to save the box in case you even want to resell it or you're moving, forget it. Next, when you finally do get it out of the torn up box, the instructions are taped to the bottom of the inside of the box. Instead of just laying it in the box and putting the safe on top of it, they tape it to the bottom so you have to tear the instruction pamphlet up removing it. The tape is not even necessary, but they just can't help themselves. The instructions say to open the lid, push the set button to the right using your finger or a screwdriver. Right. You're not going to do it with your finger because it's not raised above the frame enough for you to get any leverage, and since it doesn't move easily, you have to use a screwdriver using your left hand. In the meantime, the lid keeps closing and the rubber grommet that seals the combination mechanism keeps popping up in your way while you're trying to reset the combination. So if you have four hands, you may actually succeed in moving the numbers to the desired setting. You need one hand to push the set button, one hand to keep the lid from closing, you need one hand for keeping the rubber grommet from popping back up in your way, and another to change the numbers. And then you can't get the lid to close after you spend half an hour hurdling the above mentioned obstacles. It doesn't have to be that hard. But somehow, it is. I'm sending this back and they can toss it in the trash pile where it belongs. ... show more
