When this product showed up and I opened the box I was disappointed. The directions that came with the product were not for the box that they sent me. Lucky enough I realize that there was a video with the description of this. So after watching the video I found out how to open it. After putting the combination in I had a very difficult time opening this. I had to use a screwdriver to pop the lid open. The reason for this is the fact that this product at one time or another was on a aircraft. Since it comes with a water tight seal that when the box was exposed to the altitude of the aircraft it sucked all the air out of the box. The reason I know this is for the fact that when it open you could hear the vacuum release. At first I thought that the combination lock was cheaply made and would not work for me. At the time I had all intentions of sending this back. All I can say is that I'm glad I did not. I have had similar boxes and just one for the price just seems a little bit more secure. Let's face it if somebody wants to get into it it's not fort Knox. I'm just glad that I gave myself sometime to use the product before writing a review or even sending it back. If something was to happen to this I could honestly say I would buy another one. I just wish that they put the right directions in the box. Without those you cannot open the box. Like I said at the beginning they do have the video in the description of the product and it tells you step by step what to do. ... show more

The safe was really durable while latched and overall did what it was supposed to do. My only issue was when I tried to “break in” I discovered it was not fool proof. It would take someone who doesn’t know the code a good 10 minutes to get in. If you keep solid opening pressure on the latch and turn the number dials while pulling, then it will open right up when you accidentally stumble across the code. It is great to secure your bag to a bench/ boat railing/ something permanent to keep it from flying off the boat, or someone walking off with your bag. But if you are going to place valuables inside, I would just make sure to have a line of sight to your bag to make sure someone is not trying to break into the lockbox. I did end up returning because I was looking for something that I could keep my families passports in while out of the country and I was afraid someone would break in while we were snorkeling. We decided it was better to just use the lockers at the different resorts. ... show more

This lock box held my somewhat overstuffed billfold, iPhone SE, and a fairly bulky truck key fob with a few extra keys on the ring. I secured the cable/box around the frame of a heavy picnic table and was able to enjoy a large spring-fed swimming pool in a state park without needing to look back to make sure my stuff was ok. A thief with enough time and tools could eventually defeat it but the peace of mind that nobody could just snatch and run away with it was good enough for me. I can see using this a lot in the future and plan to buy another one for another family member since a single box doesn't hold all that much. ... show more

Was a little hard to open the first time because it was vacuum sealed but got it open with help from a screwdriver. Besides that I had no issues. Locking mechanism is sturdy as well as the box itsself. I fit my phone, watch, earbuds case, and wallet inside (granted it was a little tight but still pretty good). Fantastic, 10/10 ... show more

Feels like a quality product. It is plastic so the sturdiness of the item is an unknown, but I do believe it would cause someone of questionable character to move on to something simpler. However, as compared to a similar item I have it is a definite improvement. This model has metal dials versus plastic, this model has the numbers stamped into the dials versus painted on that starts wearing off with the first use. The dials are also much easier to turn. The unit Itself was difficult to open the first time but that turned out to be due to the seal being good enough that a vacuum had formed in the internal compartment. I actually heard the air being sucked in once I was able to break the seal. The cable is a standard steel braided wire with the cutting resistance being an unknown. Bear in mind that this is a portable "safe" and the objective would be to encourage someone to find an easier target and I don't think you will be disappointed. ... show more
