I like the boom arm a lot, I'll give it 5 stars because I've had it for a week + and I haven't had any major problems, the setup can be like the tiniest amount of confusing, but trust me, once you get it? You'll feel dumb cause it's not as complicated as it seems. Now, some minor problems I do have with this boom arm is that even though you CAN put it behind your monitors, I'd suggest you don't do that if you have 24 inch + monitors. I only say this because it will limit how far forward you can pull your mic. (I don't think it'd really be much of a problem if you have like, a desk clamp monitor mount or something or just one singular monitor.) I was a little nervous about the sturdiness and if the boom arm would stay in place when adjusted (I don't know how to explain, but sometimes boom arms don't stiffen and like...when you put the arm up? it'll just slowly move down and fold?) But surprisingly? This arm despite how heavy it is itself and with my Hyperx quadcast S combined? it stays perfectly in place no matter how high you put it. Oh! I also thing hte full motion is really nice especially if you have a place to lay down right across from your setup? it's so nice knowing I can just turn my microphone around and pull it closer to where I lay...this thing is LONG so I'd say you won't have to worry about how far it can go and stuff like that. Honestly? for 70 dollars? this is CERTAINLY worth every dollar.

I purchased two of these for my home studio. They were a breeze to setup. The ability to run the mic cables through the hidden channels gives a very clean look and the overall operation is smooth and easy. The only complaint I had was the rotating mic-head ball joint was able to handle the weight of my Rode NT1A mics with their shock mounts. You just couldn't tighten them enough and they'd sag. This was easily fixed by introducing a small square of flexible acoustic foam into the joint which gave the mount more than sufficient friction to handle the hefty mics.

Great for the money! I like it because it holds my heavy mics like my Neumann TLM103. It looks great and even hides the cable in the track on the back of the arm.

Seem tough enough to hold up anything!

I can understand this product was designed to be used on a desk, where the footprint of the clamp is fully taken up. However, if you have a partial overhang, say on a bedframe or countertop or table that does not use the whole depth of the clamp, What tends to happen is the adhesive on the rubber pad is gooey enough that it allows the clamp to wobble. The handle for the clamp is quite narrow, so you can’t really get enough torque on it to overcome that problem. Over time and from adjusting the arm position, the clamp will back itself off on the rubber pad and rip the adhesive, allowing the whole set up to fall on the floor. After a couple events like this, scaring me out of my wits in the middle of the night when it would fall off, it eventually broke the mount that attaches to whatever you’re putting on it. In this case, I was using it for my phone. Returned this after it fell one too many times, now looking for an alternative. Otherwise, if the base had held, it was actually very useful. Motion was smooth, presentation wise it looks good, and you can run cables through it cleanly.
