Alright, apologies to any reviewers who legitimately had a great experience with pairing and configuring these bulbs but I have to believe these many high reviews are a scam. I consider myself to be pretty tech savvy but after an hour of failed attempts to get this bulb to connect to my network, and then have Alexa find it, I gave up and am sending it back. Here's what I expect with new smart bulbs (based on every other smart bulb purchased): 1. do something like flick on and off 3 times until the light starts flashing - clear indicator it's in pairing mode 2. have Alexa or app look for it (i.e. add device, etc.) 3. 30 seconds later, bulb found and job completed This piece of crap bulb: 1. Extremely vague sort of hesitant initial flash, then solid on - is it in pairing mode? 2. Follow Alexa instructions and then get to step that says you must download their special app. All other brands follow a sort of standard where a generic app or Alexa will simply find it but not this one! And by the way, they boast that you can simply configure directly with Alexa, which then directs you to download their special app. 3. I finally got it paired with their special app, then told Alexa to find the new device and it couldn't. That's when I called it quits. FAIL I'll go back and search for a different brand, and won't rely so much on review ratings next time. ... show more

After spending hours failing to get these bulbs to connect to Wi-Fi and Alexa, I called Sengled Tech Support. They asked me a number of questions about my problem and about my Wi-Fi router. When he heard that I have a Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Router, he said that their Wi-Fi bulbs don't work well with Wi-Fi 6 and that I should switch to the Bluetooth version of their bulbs. (He also said that the Wi-Fi bulbs from other manufacturers have the same problem.) So I am sending these back and ordering the Bluetooth version, which is less expensive anyhow. I wish the Amazon descriptions would mention this problem so that people with Wi-Fi 6 don't waste their time as I did. Another problem is that Amazon did not automatically register these bulbs to my account when I made my purchase. They're supposed to do that, because that makes it easy for Alexa to connect these bulbs immediately without having to use the Sengled app. ... show more

1. It doesn't work work with google home if there's no hub. The description says it works with google assistance without hub which is a false description. 2. Once the wifi setting has been changed, the bulb becomes not-smart. I can't reconnect to the wife because during the setup, I have to connect the wifi "Sengled_WiFi_xxxx" but it's never found on the wifi list. Now I have to turn these on manually. I won't buy this bulb again. ... show more

They never stay synced. We are forever having to re-sync them and some of them will not sync back on. I have to remove them from the app and reinstall them, which can take multiple tries and still may fail. I have 2 I can no longer link to the app at all.

Paired it with an Arlo camera to aim at something in my house. The app is a little wonky sometimes (says its on when its off, and vice-versa). I have a camera to help me confirm that, so it's good. But if I didn't, and relied 100% on what the app was telling re: the state of on/off, I'd probably rate this lower. ... show more

If you’re connecting more than one bulb make sure you do one at a time. Took me ten minutes to connect both bulbs to my WiFi. I was afraid when the bulb says “unsecured network “ in the first step but it does eventually ask for the WiFi password. Bulb color is warm white. Schedule setup is easy but the app does not give the option of having them come on at sunset, that will have to wait for my future Alexa purchase. I contacted Sengled to ask about the sunset setting and had a response in several hours. So far so good. Would highly recommend. ... show more

Bought these smart bulbs in October. Tricky to set up and use with Alexa but got it done. Worked fine until it didn't. Stopped connecting to my wifi. Followed instructions but would not connect. I called the product support number and they wanted $79 for a one-time. The bulbs are going back!

We had a Phillips hue and now we are so much happier. Sengled does not require a hub if you have Alexa or Google home. So, there's no need for the additional hardware. Better solution in every way.
