I hung this up on my deck railing behind my Pit Boss to make sure that any generated heat from the grill wouldn't melt or damage my deck railing. Simply hang by the grommets and make sure that you cover the top rail. Works like a charm.

The Semmiro 40" x 40" Square Fire Pit Mat was a perfect way to continue to use my old outdoor wood burner on our updated deck. My burner is only 24 inches in diameter, so the 40-inch square offered ample space to catch stray embers and even have a little space to hold extra wood. This would be great to bring along on a day trip for under a hibachi grill, especially since the mat comes with pegs to hold it down in case of wind. I like that it is clear which side of this mat is up toward the fire with a "This Side Up" tag on the burning side, with a reflective strip along the edge and the additional safety of the opposite side being bright orange. The Bottom Line: Semmiro's Pad for Outdoor Wood Burning Fire Pits is within the price range of other similar mats at $36.99, but I appreciate the unmistakable safety features of Semmiro's. ... show more

It reflects heat very well, just as advertised 98% reflection. I used it in a hot tent on snow. After whole night wood stove burning, snow under stove did not melt at all! Normally the stove will sink down. It feels a little heavy due to the big size, but that’s as expected, it is for car camping or home use. Only downside is it can be slippery on top surface when wet.
