This is a beautiful fixture for a small space. I love the cut-glass bowl lampshade, but I admit it's a bit difficult to clean. It's easiest just to take the whole shade down and wash it in the sink. Dust does tend to settle on the top and makes the glass look a little discolored, but as soon as it's washed, it's back to looking like new. Installation was very easy, as I only had to transfer the hot, neutral, and ground wires over to the wires on this lamp the same way they were placed on the previous fixture. You do have to unscrew the silver plate from the fixture when it arrives to put it up on the ceiling first. The directions are decently clear, tho. It comes with the screws you need to hang it. My only complaint was that the hole in the center of the glass shade is not perfectly centered, so I had to mess with it to make it look even, and that means repeating that every time I wash it. I also didn't think about the fact that I had two bulbs in my previous fixture and this is only one bulb, so the light output was cut down quite a bit, even though I tried a higher wattage bulb. The light makes pretty patterns on the ceiling though through the glass. I'm torn whether to find a different fixture with more bulbs or not because the glass is just beautiful. ... show more

    • very pretty glass
Upon opening the box, the glass strikes you as being very pretty. I installed this light fixture at the landing t the top of our stairs and we got compliments on it right away. It's not very big, so it might look small in a larger area, but our landing is small so it works from that perspective. Unfortunately the old light fixture was larger in diameter, and the drywall underneath was damaged, so I am either going to need to find a medallion to use with it or get a flush-mount light. But it would work great for mounting on normal size ceiling electrical boxes. Note that it does NOT come with a light bulb. We are currently using a lower wattage globe bulb which is a little dim for our location. I think an Edison-type LED bulb would look great with it. ... show more

    • Easy to install, looks great!
The installation of this light was pretty straight forward. It came with all the hardware needed and only took about fifteen minutes total to install. It is a pretty light, and casts a nice pattern on the ceiling because of the design of the glass globe. Be sure to use a light bulb that is appealing (we used a round one) because the bulb is exposed - the dome covers the bulb like an umbrella. ... show more

This seemed like it was going to be an easy installation, and then my husband discovered that the bolts that were included were too short to actually use. Luckily we had some others that worked, but that seems like a pretty simple thing to get right. The light does look lovely installed, and the pattern it makes on the ceiling is beautiful. This is a really pretty light fixture that would work in any room of the home. I got it for my foyer. The installation was pretty easy. The light fixture is about the size of a salad serving bowl. I like the reflections that the cut glass makes on the ceiling. The one thing you need to know is that this is clear glass, which the description notes, but some of the photos make it appear to be more amber. That's likely a function of the color of the bulb you use. A warmer bulb will cause a more amber glow, while a colder bulb will be bright white. I had these blah light fixtures that came with the house. I like that this exposes the bulb to allow for more light, my previous one was domed outward so that the light bulb was covered by dimmer. I have a dimmer switch, but even if I did not, I could easily by a softer light if I wanted a dim affect.
