This is a review for Mito-on Cell Rejuvenation 10% Niacinamide Boosting Ampoule 50ml, vitamin b3 serum with antioxidants, anti aging skin care for clear complexion, wrinkle reduction All in all, I’m pretty happy with this serum. I really like the way it goes on to my face--It’s not greasy or sticky and I don’t notice any weird smells. It is definitely very moisturizing! I only need about half the moisturizer I usually use. I have noticed that I’ve gotten a few more pimples than usual lately—but who knows why—it could be this serum or it could be hormones. It’s hard to tell. I haven’t noticed any earth-shattering changes in how my skin looks yet, but it’s only been about a month. I had hoped I could find safety data in the EWG Skin Deep database (the original listing mentioned EWG but it has now been changed). So far, this product is not in the database. One other note—don’t try to pick the bottle up by the lid. I tried that one day and the lid stayed attached just long enough for me to get the bottle up in the air about two feet and then it let go. Luckily, the bottle was sturdy enough to survive the fall back down onto the bathroom counter but I was worried I’d shattered it for a few seconds there.

This is a great niacinamide serum! 🔴CONTAINS 2 TYPES OF EGF I saw another reviewer say they said this has EGF in it but the ingredient list didn’t have EGF listed. When looking on the ingredient list for EGF, it isn’t going to say “EGF,” “epidermal growth factor,” “growth factor,” etc. It is going to list the INCI name of the ingredient. This has 2 EGFs in it - rh-Oligopeptide-1 and Sh-Oligopeptide-1 (14th & 15th ingredients). Having not 1 but 2 in a serum this price is pretty darn good. 🔴10% NIACINAMIDE This has 10% niacinamide. When it comes to niacinamide products, all of the studies show niacinamide is most beneficial between 2-5%, so that’s usually the range you want to look for. Of course, you can get products with higher niacinamide percentages, but that also increases the risk for irritation. 2% is too low to see any real benefits. 2-3% is good for controlling oil production and acne. 3-6% improves tone, texture, and overall skin barrier, including hyperpigmentation and dull skin. Higher than 7% may cause irritation. I personally have been using niacinamide for a while, so I don’t get irritation when I use a 10% niacinamide serum. 🔴SOOTHING INGREDIENTS This also has a lot of soothing ingredients like Centella Asiatica, Houttuynia cordata Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Beta-Glucan, Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate, Panthenol, Allantoin, Edelweiss Callus Culture Extract 🔴SERUM CONSISTENCY, APPLICATION, EFFECTS This is a usual consistency for a serum - like a thin gel. It’s not too thin where it’s really watery/runny and it’s not thick. It has no scent at all. It glides on the skin easily. It feels nice on the skin. It absorbs quickly. It leaves a slight tacky feeling for about 30 seconds after applying it, but after that my skin feels nice and smooth. It hasn’t irritated my skin in any way. My skin looks and feels nice. I do think using this for the last month has brightened my skin and has helped lighten my sun spots and post acne marks. The redness in my skin has really reduced too! It also works really well with my other skin care products and under my makeup (but I always let my skin care settle into my skin for at least 15 min before going in with makeup, but with this it absorbs so quickly you probably wouldn’t need to do that if you were just using this). 🔴OVERALL THOUGHTS Overall, I really like this serum! It’s a high percentage of niacinamide AND it has 2 different types of EGF. It has worked really well on my skin and I’m excited to see what continued use does. If my skin keeps improving (hydration, brightness, reduced redness, and reduction in sun spots and post acne marks), I will definitely purchase this to continue using! 🔴OUTER PACKAGING, FULL INGREDIENTS This comes in a product box. It’s made in Korea. I have zero clue what else the box says since the rest of the info is in Korean. Why sell a product in the US and not have the info in English?! 🤦♀️ They do have an ingredient list on the product page which I put below. This serum has ingredients that are known wound healing, skin regeneration, and improvement of fine lines. It has anti-oxidants and adenosine, which helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and is allowed as a functional anti-wrinkle ingredient in S. Korea (where they regulate more carefully than in the US). It also has ingredients known to help with inflammation like Anemarrhena asphodeloides and Centella. It has no added fragrance ingredients to irritate the skin, and although it has a faint sweet grassy/herbal/fresh smell from the ingredients, that quickly dissipates and is a non-issue to my sensitive nose. It comes in a 50mL size vs the 30mL that is more common for serums. When I applied this, it absorbed quickly and left my skin feeling soothed, smoothed, and hydrated. Any lasting effects will take time and of course will be subtle, but I enjoy pampering my skin. I also use a prescription strength retinoid, and products like this work well on my non-retinoid days to supplement and attenuate my skincare regime. MitoOn suggests you can use it in a second layer if desired. My skin condition varies a lot based on the weather, how much sleep I've gotten, etc, so I've layered on days when my skin felt more needy. Because it comes in a larger sized bottle, I am also using it generously on my neck and décolletage. All the ingredients are EWG green (I run everything through it), and it gets a 93/100 on Yuka, which is excellent. It should be noted that the EGF complex in this is semi-controversial. Some concerns have been raised that it could increase cell growth in cells that you don't want to grow (moles and worse) in addition to fostering healthy growth. I'm personally not too concerned about this since I pay attention to my skin and will get a bad spot removed quickly, and my spots, while they need to be taken care of eventually, aren't the kind that are really serious and urgent, but some may be watching for the serious type that tends to proliferate quickly. Since this has ascorbic acid, make sure to store out of sunlight and use it up before it loses effectiveness. I think this is an excellent anti-wrinkle option to add to a skincare routine as long as you don't have qualms about EGF. Review update: this product really integrates well in my skin routine, and it's one I can reliably turn to if I have tried something that causes irritation. I feel it works really well with retinoid use. It's a little pricey, but it's one I find myself reaching for when I have a lot of beauty product choices.

This doesn't work nearly as well as the product they discontinued, which was a 10% niacinamide firming lotion. They got rid of that and the ingredients in this one don't soak into the skin as well. It feels sticky. Please bring back to the firming lotion.
