    • More line and bigger line capacity!
A friend of mine bought this reel along with 100 ft of 4 wt line! The reel itself works like a charm! However, there is no way to put 100 ft of 4wt fly line on this reel....the arbor is too small! We had to cut approx.27 ft of fly line off just to get about 35 ft of 10lb. backing on the reel! I would buy one myself, but I fish with 5wt and above! Don't like the idea of throwing fly line away, just so I can get some backing on the reel! More line capacity would make this reel a game changer, in my opinion! ... show more

I'm new to fly fishing so I can't speak on its quality compared to other fly fishing reels. But I'm highly satisfied with this one It is semi-automatic lightweight durable and is ported all the way through! Can't wait to catch a fish on this bad boy!!

Okay, so first off, I am just getting into fly fishing and I am not ready to clunky down the money for top-of-the-line fishing gear. So I saw this reel and decided to give it a try. It's the first time I've seen a fly fishing reel with a line take-up like this and for me it is a brilliant little function to retrieve line as I botch trying to cast this thing like I see them do on videos. This is an interesting fly reel... it has a rapid retrieve feature on it that I've never seen before. There is a lever that protrudes from the front of the reel. Simply pull the lever and it multiplies the spin of the reel (the best way I can explain it is like a salad spinner... where you push on the lever and the harder you push, the faster it spins). The reel itself is CNC machined aluminum. Looks sharp. Good materials. I haven't had a chance to go fishing with yet, but hopefully I'll be able to make it up to the stream soon. ... show more

    • Beautiful reel that works amazingly well
Was skeptical about the retrieve handle but it actually works very well. Depressing the handle actuates a gear on the spool that retrieves the line. Solid aluminum and will last a very long time. Smooth action and great overall.
