This speaker is much louder than my previous one, I can hear it at 50+mph with my helmet on. I have had no issue with the waterproof compartment. The handlebar control is a nice touch, allowing for song skipping and volume control (long press)

You know, it sounds ok. Bass is blah. And after reading the other reviews, I've put a sh*t ton of culking on it to try and waterproof it. Folks who use this unit generally are off roaders. Well, the straps that they send with it are pointless. Just throw them away and get some rubber tie downs from your local hardware store Second of all. Did I mention Caulking? This unit is NOT water/weather resistant. Make it yourself. The sound is not half bad. But the lack audio of controls makes it so/so. I've gone through many units on my quad and this is the best one so far apart from fabricating my own unit Regardless its loud enough to over come and go over the sound of your bike. It's just not wow worthy...but it is better then others on the market.. ... show more

Install was mostly easy. Hardest part was mounting thumb controls. Sound is good. Plenty loud to hear while casual riding. I am hard hearing at times, and I have installed sound systems in or on all my vehicles for the last 30 years. So my opinion is that it’s not the best. But it’s probably the best setup you are gonna get for the money. LED light works good. The thumb controls light up nicely to see easily at night. Pro's: Music is loud, I'm not an audiophile but you can hear it above the atv. It attaches pretty good to the atv. I didn't think it would because it's just strapped on but it does. The LED light isn't bad. Not as good as the best LED light you can buy but for a built in, it's not bad. The front storage compartment with usb is pretty cool. You can charge your phone while you drive. Nice to have the handlebar controller. (but not nice, see my con on this) It can plug into a cigarette lighter 12v plug that most atv's have by their handlebars. The plastic appears very durable and sturdy and should last a long time. Con's (and this is why I gave it 3 stars-really 3.5 stars) The cords are not modular-meaning if one breaks, you cannot replace it. The handlebar controller comes with a 3.5 mm connector. (who uses these anymore?) But you cannot disconnect it, so the cord just dangles down. The handlebar controller connects with an S-video type connector (once again, the 90's called and wants it's connector back)--it is easy to bend these little pins if you're not careful If you want to run it all the way back to your battery for power, you need to cut wires and add a fuse. No wire control and nowhere to conceal the excess wires. I have bundled wires just sitting in front of the handlebars. (maybe a little OCD on my part, but it's messy looking) Overall, I'm happy the speakers and LED light are conjoined into one unit. That's probably what I like best about it. I cannot speak about the water resistance and don't know if I ever will be in water to test it. I'm not displeased and I think you will enjoy this unit. I don't usually write this long of reviews but felt like I should because I really liked it but thought people should also know about the shortfalls. Of course, I'm not getting paid, nor did I get a free unit for this review. Edit (May 9, 2022): Another "con". I left it plugged in last night with everything turned off and it drained my battery. So, you'll need to remember to unplug it after using it. Once again, not a huge deal but what if you forget to unplug it and you're out camping? Edit 2: Stopped working altogether after less than 30 days. No power. Had to return it. Luckily, was less than the return period. ... show more

Bulky and takes up limited space. After a few tries, I settled on the top of the storage box installed on the rear rack. This is no fault of Boss. It's on me and design of UTV. If you want multiple accessories, you might consider roll bar or ceiling mounted.
