  • Good reel and easy to fish with all day.
Model: CUMGL71HGK
Great reel! For the price point it’s the best smaller frame bait casting reel that I’ve owned

  • Outstanding Reel for the money!
Model: CUMGL71HGK
Excellent reel at this price point. I do prefer the Daiwa Tatula SV TW 70 over this reel, so where I looking for this size reel and brand loyalty were not an issue, I would get the Diawa. But you can't go wrong with this MGL. It cast excellent, build quality is great, functionality is butter and ages like wine w/ proper maintenance. It stays in rotation. ... show more

  • Shimano DC Curado
Model: CUDC150XG
I watched my friend use one of these on a recent fishing trip. He easily casted this reel into the wind and never had a single issue with backlash but still got pretty good distance throwing baits. I ordered one which came in yesterday and I rigged it up with some braid and took it out to one of the local ponds in the neighborhood. I said the reel as I normally would any of my reels where the bait would barely fall and began to cast. Nice smooth long cast without any backlash. So then I set it where the bait would fall at a very fast pace. Normally setting any reel like that and chunking it ends up with me and a bird nest. Not this time, the cast for even farther and as soon as that bait touched the water it would stop. Then I moved to the other side of the pond and began to cast it into the wind. It wasn’t a strong wind maybe 5 to 8 but I continue to get a really good distance and as soon as the boat hit the water the spool stopped. So far so good with this one. Taking it on a little trip I’m going on this weekend hopefully I will catch something on the reel and give it a work out. ... show more

  • Shimano Curado MGL: Effortless Casting Meets Elite Control
Model: CUMGL71HGK
After pairing the Shimano Curado MGL with my St. Croix Mojo Bass Trigon (Medium-Fast, 3/16 – 5/8 oz), this reel quickly became my go-to for finesse and lighter baitcasting work. The MGL spool design really shines — it starts up with minimal effort, making it perfect for throwing small jigs, weightless plastics, and light cranks that most other baitcasters struggle with. What stands out most is the smoothness and control. The combination of the SVS Infinity braking and micro-adjustable tension knob makes backlash almost nonexistent once you’re dialed in. It handles light braid or fluoro equally well and launches lures far beyond what you’d expect from a compact reel. The build quality feels premium — tight tolerances, clean machining, and that classic Shimano refinement when you engage the handle. It’s light enough for all-day casting, yet sturdy enough to muscle bass away from cover when needed. In short, the Curado MGL strikes that rare balance between finesse capability and raw performance. If you’re looking for a reel that can handle both precision presentations and all-day reliability, this one’s hard to beat ... show more

  • Scam
Model: CUDC150XG
Complete scam. I paid good money, and when I opened the box it was a $15 POS in a curado DC box. Buy it in person, put hand on it. Don’t get scammed out of your hard earned money.

  • Just got my second one
Model: CUMGL71HGK
Overall I'm very pleased with this reel. For the price and what you gets its perfect. Definitely a high end reel for a rod in the 200-400 dollar range. It's smooth and cast lighter lures with ease. I paired it on a 6'10" med Expride and couldn't be happier. Just added a second one to my Zodias 7'2" med light and it cast 3/16oz swimbaits perfectly. I use 15-30 braid only. 20 is the sweet spot for all around but 15lb braid will spool off without question. ... show more
