I never believe it when someone tells me "A paddle is a paddle." That person doesn't play much. I could tell the difference between this model versus the aluminum core paddles I tried. The graphite models had a feel that didn't appeal to me. Some liked the "click" or "pop" off the aluminum core models, but I had a liking to the composite, similar to how I like certain tennis strings compared to others. This model had a nice weight to it, top grade grip, a subtle texture to the surface that helped to control shots and impart spin, but had a very good rebound off the face. Have played with this paddle 2-3 times a week for 3 months now. It was a good upgrade from my Zzt paddle that I bought a few years back. I am a casual recreation player. At 7.5 oz it is light and enables me to respond quickly. In my opinion this paddle has a small "sweat spot". It seems that I get very different ball response depending on which part of the paddle strikes the ball. I tried a slightly heavier paddle from a different manufacture and have decided that a different paddle would work better for me. I think the Selkirk is an excellent company and I'll try some of their other paddles before I make my final new paddle decision. ... show more

This is a lightweight power paddle. It does vibrate a bit if you don’t hit the sweet spot. This paddle is lively enough that even a poor dink tends to make it over the net.

The racket balance well and my performance improved from previous racket. The 3 stars is for shipment in a plastic bag without a box, the integrity of the racket could been damaged that is not visible (bent, heavy object laid on, etc) and it didn’t come with a cover.
