A Paddle That Actually Elevated My Game I’ve always been skeptical of people who say new gear makes them play better. I figured practice and footwork mattered way more than equipment. But after using this paddle, I have to admit—it really did take my game to another level. What stood out right away was the control. The paddle has a nice balance in the hand, not too heavy or too light, and I noticed I could place shots with much more accuracy than before. My dinks stayed low, my resets felt smoother, and I was suddenly keeping points alive that I used to lose. The textured carbon face gives the ball a bite, so I can shape shots with spin that I just couldn’t generate with my old paddle. Power-wise, it doesn’t feel like an oversized sledgehammer—it’s not the type of paddle that just blasts the ball—but there’s plenty of pop when you need it. Drives come off clean, volleys are crisp, and it has enough punch at the net to finish points. The handle length felt natural for two-handed backhands, and the grip stayed comfortable even during long sessions. I also appreciated how the grip absorbed sweat and didn’t feel slippery, even after a couple hours of play in warm weather. The one thing I’d mention for others is that this paddle leans more toward control than raw power, so if you like a really aggressive, power-dominant game, you might want to know that going in. For me, that tradeoff worked perfectly—I wanted consistency first, and I got it. Durability also seems good so far, as the edge guard and surface have held up after plenty of play without chipping or peeling. Bottom line: I went into this thinking a new paddle wouldn’t change much, and I came out convinced. This paddle genuinely gave me better control, more spin, and enough power to round out my game. Selkirk makes a great product in general, the construction seems solid and you have nice control. I will be buying another one sometime soon. The only reason I wouldn’t give it a 5 star review is because the grip tape wore out in about 30 days. I’m the typical pickleball player, late 50’s and play about three times a week at the local senior center. I keep the paddle in a protective case when not in use and make sure to wipe it down after every time I play. The rape started peeling after about a week and was completely worn through by the third week. I have since replaced the tape with an aftermarket product from another manufacturer and have had absolutely no problems. ... show more

I've been using this paddle for over six months and love it. It was a huge step up from my original Selkirk NEO. I especially like this combo of accuracy and power, partly due to the longer handle. Also, it was available with a smaller handle size, which is important to me. I wish it came with something other than a white handle and trim, but in the future handle re-taping is an option if needed. I still prefer Selkirk paddles. ... show more
