  • Honest Review from a mediocre player - It's awesome!!!
Color: Blue Size: Invikta (Elongated Shape)
I started playing pickleball about a year ago, and coming from a tennis background, I expected the transition to be really easy. Clearly, I was wrong. Pickleball gameplay is quite different, and I had to learn about my play style to really improve. One thing I noted was that the paddles that I had at my disposal were not the best to help improve my ball control and shot placement. The very first time I played was at the YMCA and they had these horrible wooded paddles. There was no forgiveness, the sound was horrible, and it was all around a terrible experience. I decided to buy a set of Selkirk paddles for my girl and I to use recreationally, and wound up buying a beginner set priced under 100 dollars for a pair. These were a great improvement over the wooden paddles, had a nice surface to help with spin, and I used them for most of last year. As I got better at the game and began to play more competitively, I realized there were some inconsistencies with my shots. After doing some research, reading reviews, and handling some of the paddles at local sporting good stores, I held this one and decided to get it. The feel of this paddle is far superior to anything I've used to date. The grip is soft and has plenty of cushion so it feels great in my hand. The paddle is noticeably lighter than any other paddle I've used. The surface has a nice feel, gritty and helps me really get some top-spin on my serves and my backhand spin is awesome. I've definitely noticed a difference in the sweet spot and my ability to control my shots with this. The mid-range paddles seemed to have a smaller sweet spot and I would often overpower the shot. If I hit off center enough, the older paddles had a noticeable thud sound and the ball just died. With this one, the sound is consistent just about anywhere you hit the ball (on the surface of the paddle) and I've had less shots go out past the opponent's baseline. It's also better on dinks at the kitchen line as I'm not lofting it up over the net as much. For anyone who plays often, or is looking to improve control, I feel like this is the way to go. Invest in a good paddle and reap the benefits of the design. I've only had it a couple weeks, so I can't comment on the surface of the paddle and how it will hold up, only time will tell. And the best part was that Amazon had it for 50 bucks less than other places, so it was a no-brainer once I knew I was looking to invest in a new paddle. ... show more

  • Fantastic Upgrade
Color: Blue Size: Invikta (Elongated Shape)
I recently upgraded from the Selkirk Epic to the Invict, and I couldn’t be happier. The Invict paddle strikes a perfect balance between control and power, making it ideal for both strategic placement and aggressive shots. Compared to the Epic, which was great for finesse but lacked punch, the Invict gives me the confidence to drive the ball with authority while still maintaining touch at the net. The build quality is top-notch, and the paddle feels solid yet lightweight in hand. Whether you're playing dinks or smashes, the response is consistent and reliable. If you're looking to elevate your game with a paddle that delivers on both ends, the Invict is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended for intermediate to advanced players who want that extra edge! ... show more

  • Great paddle
Color: Blue Size: Invikta (Elongated Shape)
I've played pickleball for 5 years or so and typically play 2-3 times a week. I've used many different brands of paddle over the years, but this is by far my favorite. I love the control and the amount of spin I can put on the ball. Definitely elevated my game. It's pricy, but worth it.

  • A Control Paddle for SURE!
Color: Red Size: Invikta (Elongated Shape)
I buy 3 or 4 paddles a year. I lean toward the more control type paddles as I can produce enough power, for me, with about any paddle. Control is a bit harder with true power paddles, but each have their purpose(s). I can always add weight sticky's to the sides of a control paddle to give it more power. Note: Not much you can do to make a power paddle have more control though. They are what they are. So, this paddle has all the characteristics of a true control paddle. Light, softer face, great grippy spin, very QUICK at the net. The hole though, is actually is more a power thing, allowing faster whip with the paddle, because of air flow. So this paddle has a that as a, so called, power feature. Still, I am not sure I need that hole. Plus, I put my index finger on the paddle face a bit, as it helps me know where the face is facing in the heat of the battle. So this hole feels a little awkward at first for my index finger finding a good spot (not in the hole.) I have to adjust my finger a bit, to make it work for me. So, I am Not crazy about the hole thing, but not a huge game changer, but I could do without it. One more concern, also, happens when I hit a ball real close to the edge of the paddle (hitting to the edge is not a prefered thing to do) but when it happens, with this paddle, the face turns backward and wiggles a bit more than my other more power paddles. A Hmm? moment - when that wiggle thing happens. So, I just added some 3 gram weights to stabilize those type of edge hits. 4 weights. One towards each corner side. I found that idea on the net - and it makes some sense, so I just put the weights on and will give that a try. Yes, I like this paddle for it's control and ablity to spin the ball. Great for a light, to no wind days. I generally do prefer a little more power ball paddle for windy days, but this can really spin the ball on a windy day and if the wind is blowing the ball same direction - it's a crazy ball for a lot of people to hit. So there is that. I have no regrets buying this paddle. Be interesting how well it holds up. I put protection tape on the end and halfway down the sides to help protect the edges as it has no edge guard protection, and I see others complaining of chips and skid marks on the unprotected sides. So adding edge guard tape - is a no brainer for this paddle. I say buy it if you are looking for a dedicated control paddle. This is ALL that! And control is very important! ... show more

  • Amazing paddle for pickleball.
Color: Blue Size: Invikta (Elongated Shape)
The paddle is great for pickleball. Im still relatively new but have enjoyed using this Selkirk Sport LUXX paddle. Sometimes I'll give it a go and try to get some nice spin or curve on the ball and when it goes right it's fun to see, but I'm not that great so I give all of the praise to my LUXX paddle. I also really like color. ... show more

  • having it replaced for the quality it should be. Please let me know how to proceed. Thanks, TGS
Color: Blue Size: Invikta (Elongated Shape)
I bought this for my wife who is an avid Pickleball player and Selkirk is a brand name. She opened for the first time yesterday (March 10, 2026) and the either shipped as a fake or product was DOA on arrival. Either way, would like to have it replaced. This should not happen and I paid a lot of money for a paddle that does not work as advertised and feel like we got ripped off. Please let me know. ... show more
